    • Double the number of bulbs you use in a single socket
My garage has two ceiling-mounted light sockets. By themselves, even using high-lumen LED lights, did not give me quite enough light. By screwing these splitters into those ceiling sockets I'm able to double my LED lights from 2 to 4 and now have all the overhead lighting I need. Great buy.

These are very simple, just screw it in and you have more light. They are made of a hard plastic, you get 3 in a box and they are smaller than other types I have seen. Although I got these to use in overhead closet lights to give me more light, I found I could screw one into a lamp and in my case, didn't have to remove the harp. Works perfectly and couldn't be easier. I have to add, I only use LED bulbs so while these are rated for up to 200 watts, my LED bulbs , equivalent to 60 watt bulbs, only use 5.5 watts each, 11 watts total. In a plastic piece like this I feel comfortable with the LED bulbs but would be leery of incandescent. I will watch these for any signs of burning, but right now they are perfect and a simple solution to adding more light with next to no effort. ... show more

    • Great concept, sketchy execution
I somehow missed that this was a 3-pack - BONUS! The fixture I had in mind for these is in the back corner of the narrow part of the basement where a lone bulb is the only option because of a non-functional outlet. The bottom line is that the space is MUCH brighter, and the light is directed in areas where it wasn’t with the lone bulb. That is the positive. There are a few things that are less than positive. It took a few tries to get any of these to work until I figured out that the metal tongue at the bottom wasn’t making contact. Once I bent them all up a bit, they all worked fine. Having to do that gave me the opportunity to learn that the metal used for the contacts is not flimsy. This is good. Another concern is how they are put together - with a screw in the middle, but nothing where the outside seams are. Granted, you don’t crank down light bulbs, but with these adapters, as soon as the bulb was remotely seated, the edges started to split apart. I don’t know what this means from a safety perspective, but I don’t care for it. At the point that the split is almost imperceptible, the bulb is in no way loose, so I guess it’s a pass. That said, none of the materials seemed unexpectedly cheap or poorly constructed, so I left it installed in said fixture - which gets very little use. For the record, I used LED bulbs. With the concerns I have, I’m not sure I’d trust standard bulbs. I love the concept, though, and since I’ve got 2 more, I am considering putting one in the laundry area, but that actual fixture needs replaced, and there’s no way I’m taking a chance putting one of these adapters in a faulty fixture. I am now much more motivated to replace the fixture, though. (If you're curious, it's a pull string fixture where the "clicker" has worn out. I can reach it from the floor, so I just unscrew the bulb to turn it off. Totally safe. Lol.) ... show more

The splitter itself works well but be careful when installing as the plastic used to manufacture the product is pretty fragile and can break if gripped too hard

I needed something a little more diffused than a single bulb, so I used one of these dual sockets to break up the light in this floor lamp. I think the result was somehow softer light. Really handy, and the price for 3 is as reasonable as you can find. Good product.

Some areas require a lot of light. The cheapest LED bulbs are usually 40Weqv or 60Weqv. Perhaps you can find a deal on 100Weqv LEDs. Bulbs brighter than 1600LM (100Weqv) come with a premium price. Why spend for a premium bulb when you can put two cheap bulbs in the same socket? Most of my table lamps have either two 100Weqv LED bulbs or one 100Weqv and one 60Weqv bulbs. Just check and make sure you have clearance for the 2 in 1 socket splitter in your lamp or fixture. Keep in mind that this 2 in 1 socket splitter is for LED and compact fluorescent bulbs. They are manufactured with minimal material (read very little metal) and won't support the current draw or heat from large incandescent bulbs. ... show more
