Little mighty lawn vacuum!!!

Read no more reviews, don’t be confused, this is the one you want. Just buy it and be happy. I did the research for you. This is a sturdy little unit. Moderately priced, has one of the largest bags available, super lightweight,very easy to store. Forget all the terminology and descriptions, the bottom line is this is an agitator and vacuum cleaner for your lawn. It comes with two blades. The larger one is much too rough and will damage your yard. Use the smaller one and don’t look back. A few notes on my experience below. I neglected my lawn for 13 years and chose not to bag clippings and a significant amount of thatch built up. Then I bought this little mighty machine. I started on the highest setting and went over the lawn, then lowered it one setting and did the same, doing it five times total going progressively lower and lower. Many say forget the bag, but I recommend the bag. It does have a large capacity, but will only fill about 1/3 because it gets clogged. Any of them would probably do that. I did the first one without the bag and there was thatch everywhere. I raked some of it, but the more you disturb it. It just sinks back into the lawn. After this initial agitation, I installed the bag and then went over the lawn on each of the settings going progressively lower each time. You’re only going to get 10 or 20 feet before you have to empty the bag so get ready for some work. Drag it slowly back-and-forth as it’s working, it seems to suck up better that way. It fills up quick or did in my case. But with a few hours of work on my front lawn it came out quite amazing. I dumped the thatch on an old sheet and drug it back into the wilderness never to be seen again. The lawn looks amazing now. One of the pictures shows the right side done and the left side incomplete. I highly recommend this! Much easier than raking… still a good bit of work, but really does a good job.

Performance Exceeded Expectations!!!

My expectations when I purchased the 2-in-1 Dethatcher & 16-inch Scarifier a couple days ago wasn’t particularly high but I just needed something to remove the dead grass from my lawn. Needless to say this thing has exceeded all my expectations! Our lawn was sodded in March of 2023 and has never been dethatched in all that time. I had a lot of dead undergrowth. I started the dethatcher with the bag on but quickly realized I had so much dead grass it was filling the bag up after about 20’! I finally decided to remove the bag and just run it through my entire lawn and then use my push mower with bagger to mow it all up. Now I will use the scarifier blades on my lawn to breakup the soil to prepare to over seed. My lawn was bad and clearly this is something that needs to be done every year so it took me a few hours to get it all up. It’s very lightweight and has plenty of power. The bag size isn’t an issue because my lawn was really bad because I had never used a dethatcher. I don’t have anything negative comments. It did exactly what it said it could do. Yes the chord is annoying but I didn’t want to spend $250 or more for a cordless one. It’s made with plastic material but feels durable and is very lightweight. My lawn looks so much better. very happy with this purchase.

A Very Effective Machine

This dude gets it done. It's not one of the 15.5 amp models out there it's 15amp which means you can use a 100ft 12awg cord. I used the dethatcher not the scarifier and this thing will rip up 1" thick moss and thatch in a heartbeat. And it will cut into the ground enough to plant seed after said moss and thatch are removed with just the dethatcher, heck if your set on 4 or 5 it will cut the ground while dethatching. So, yeah I'm happy with it, there is one downside however you will be emptying the basket about every 20-30 ft depending on your situation. I bought this particular model because it's about 4lbs heavier than the competition and that's important for penetration and basically had the same review stats. Ran it today 9-14-26 for 4 3/4 hrs without a hiccup dethaching some 14,000sqr ft of some seriously thick and moss thatch and it never hesitated. Highly recomended !

Seems Effective With Lawn Thatch

I received this just a day or two ago. I put it together today and it was reasonable .. all I needed to provide was a phillips screwdriver. They provide an 'allen' / hex wrench to use when changing from the dethatching bar to the scarifier bar. It comes with the scarifier bar mounted. Changing the bars is a 10 minute job. Assembly instructions were ok. It seems to be reasonably constructed. ALthough I suspect that it will not last long if used frequently. I've only used it for an hour or so to pull up the thatch in section of my yard that looks next to dead from the extreme heat and drought that we had in our are (SW Ohio) this summer. I did not bother with the very small collection bag provided. This thing worked quite well .. even though my yard if fairly rough with some high and low spots. The existing patches of healthy grass seems to not be harmed that much. I am just raking up the thatch. I may use the scarifier bar next spring if these areas look to need to have some new grass seed planted. I'll use it to rough up a few areas, spread some grass seed and perhaps finish with a very light (~ .1 inch or so) of soil followed by a very light raking to try top cover the grass seed a little. So .. so far I like it and it is saving many hours of raking this thatch out manually. 10/24/24 I used this to dethatch about 4000 sq ft of my lawn over the last two days. This unit did a very good job. My lawn soil is poor and not particularly smooth. Its easy to use. So I am very satisfied.

Good Perfomance so far very pleased

I bought this last winter, (northern central state) and just finally had a chance to use it. Outstanding! for dethatching. Mowed shorter than normal, set it on zero and it pulled out tons of thatch with minimal disruption to the existing grass. forget about the bag .. run it without the bag, rake up the bulk and go back over it with your bagging lawn mower. I'll scarify once we get a little rain and it softens things up a bit, but this seems to be a really good purchase.

My father thought this thing would never work, I told him that the reviews said it was good. Let's just say watching me use it on my lawn, he was immediately asking if he could borrow it for his own lawn! This thing does an unbelievably good job for how affordable it is. It only took about 5 minutes to put together after opening the box and we were up and running. We made multiple passes starting at the highest height setting and working our way down the mid height setting and we pulled out two full green waste trash cans worth of thatch out of just our 1000 square foot front lawn. So easy to use. As others have said, just go ahead and throw the bag away. It's so small, and so much thatch comes gets taken out, you will literally spend 90% of your time emptying the bag if you choose to use it. Our lawn had never been de-thatched and I'm not kidding that the bag would have filled up every 10 feet. My only complaint/suggestion is that the height settings would be so much more useful if they were in inches instead of arbitrary numbers. This is especially driven home because the instructions, which are brief but useful, give suggestions of how deep to go with each head in inches, and you have no idea which height setting will get you that depth since the height settings are just whole numbers, where bigger numbers are higher up and lower numbers are closer to the groundn.

I want to start off by saying that for those who were like me, and needed a dethatcher, but didn't want to spent a ton of money on one...your search has ended...this is the right choice. I figured even if it worked pretty okish, being that it was 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the other ones...it would be fine...but no, it works GREAT. First, make sure you swap out the scarifier blade that it comes with, that thing with thrash your lawn (unless you're looking to scarify your packed dirt patch for a full re-seed). Second, make sure you start at the highest setting and move down. I didn't have to go down more than the second setting and all the thatch was torn from my lawn, while still leaving most of the live grass in place. Third...get a wheelbarrow or cart or something, this bag on this unit fills up FAST, especially if you're using it to rake leaves (and it does a great job at that). I literally filled mine up every 10-15 feet of lawn. This isn't a knock on the unit itself, it's absolutely working as intended...it just needs to be emptied frequently. The build quality is good, the unit is light, but it doesn't feel brittle or poorly made. I do wish the mechanism for attaching the cord was a little better than it is, it is left dangling there as you go, but it's the same as a pair of corded hedge trimmers.

Works great. Couple of mfg. Flaws

I gave it a 3 only because when it arrived, the box wasn't damaged but assembling it ,the top handle was bent. Since it is a small gage aluminum piece I didn't push. I was able to tighten it down. Also the sponge cover on handle was ripped. I will have to replace it. It works great. One swipe down the yard fills the catcher on the back. But it beats raking it manually. I hope It last for this year. Nice little machine.
