I was looking for a small safe and decided on this one. It's about the size of the ones in hotel closets so it's big enough to hold some valuables. Not made to hold papers but great for wallets, cash, jewelry, etc. The safe is battery powered with keys for when they die or you forgot the combination. The opening sequence is a little wonky when using a combination, you need to press the E button after you enter your code. I'd name it the O button. Setting the combination is easy, just read the directions. The back of the safe is one layer of steel while the rest of it is multi-layered. There are holes for the mounting bolts to go into so you can see inside when you pick it up. I guess once it's bolted into a floor/wall that won't matter. I can see this stopping a burglar.

This is a good place to store important valuables as it is easy to use with a digital panel or keys. It's small - only 1 cubic foot - but it seems very sturdy but it should be noted that nothing is 100 percent unbreakable. Also this is not a fireproof box so anything inside that could be melted in heat will melt. It should be noted that if the battery runs out, the safe will still be able to open which may or may not be a good thing, depending on the situation. I would recommend bolting this onto the floor for extra security with solid bolts (the included screws are inferior) .

I got this for some light duty functions: a phone & device time out box in a class room when students are not supposed to be using their phones and some how magically got caught by the evil instructor. This is a good lock box and light duty safe. Thinking thru securing your stuff, this is meant to be a way of slowing down a potential thief. it can be cracked and opened in a matter of a couple minutes and will only serve to slow down any heist (hopefully). Even bigger and stronger safes can be broken into with the right tools when given enough time and they do not have a military detachment or police office a couple blocks away. SO keep that in mind when buying a lockbox (safe) like this. The box is pretty sturdy and comes with a couple hardware pieces to anchor it into your wall (preferably a wall stud or wall with more than wallboard up - like plywood sheering panels). It has the option of putting in batteries to use a digital key which is easy to setup and use and is very nice if you are getting into it several times a week. Other wise, I suggest you use the keys as the if the batteries lose power you will have to use the keys anyways. The keys slip into a slot that can be covered with a rubbery plastic plug located in the front of the box to unlock the opening knob , which can then be twisted to open or close the locking bars (one each at top and bottom of the safe's door). Locking the safe will make the opening know unable to operate the locking mechanism. The Locking knob is plastic and seems like you could punch it with a hammer and defeat it but I didn't try to do that, but definitely feels like you could. Also this is not ideal for protection from fire and flood. So all your gold bars would survive but not your marriage certificate or diploma certificate. It will hold several phones and smaller tablets, so for my use it works well in the classroom environment and is a bit menacing to students that don't want to lose their precious phones. At home, it has been great for locking up kid's devices (phones, switches, earbuds, etc) when they have been grounded from the devices. I even put in a dog's bone when he's been bad for a moment of levity with the kids.

The light in the inside does not work correctly. It doesn’t project into the safe. However, I can see the battery pack is working. Unless you mount the safe to a wall or self- the 4 mounting holes are large and always exposed allowing water, fire even insects to get in the safe. Decent size; as described. Lockout Key works great.

At the summer camp I work at, we're required to keep our medication in a lockbox so kids and other staff can't get to it, so that is what I ordered this safe for. It'll work great for that purpose. It's a little gaudy just as a medication safe, but I plan on wrapping it with some wrapping paper or wallpaper to make it look cuter and less wacky. It's decently heavy and definitely takes some umph to lift, but I don't think it would be hard to break into. I haven't used the battery operated keypad yet but I plan on setting it up before I go away so I won't have to use the key every time. The keys aren't hard to use and I like that it has a plug to go over the keyhole, as it'll be kept outdoors this summer and will keep dirt from getting in. The bottom and back side of the safe have holes in them for mounting, this means that it isn't going to be water or fireproof, so if you need it for that I would not recommend. Overall, if you're looking for something to store sensitive documents or things that need to be securely kept away, I would not recommend this. It's just an average cheap safe and will be effective for storing medication, like I plan on, or maybe keeping things away from young kids. However, I would recommend finding a more secure safe for anything besides these purposes as this one won't do much.
