Bought new expensive big TV, realized I used Aux for the surround sound system all these years. My system is old, it doesn't have all those fancy optical/hdmi ports. So bought this to try make the optical on the back of the TV to work with the Aux. Worked pretty good. But do make sure you get a small 5V 1A power adapter, I used the usb port on the back of the tv and keeps getting these pop noise a few mins after shutting of tv, turned out the usb power is stopped once tv is off so that's why the pop noise. Got an old charger and plugged it in, never had problem again with the pop noise. The cable from optical port to the Aux port is pretty short, like 5in? something like that, but they did inlcude a extension cable for the aux, that's a plus. ... show more

It was perfection. It allowed me to use my favorite plug in Sennheiser on ear headrest by using the optical plug. There was no standard headphone plug on the tv I bought. Most importantly, it saved me from having to buy a Bluetooth headrest.
