    • External gas tank connector is Johnson type.
Model: 6HP 2 Stroke
Great little motor. No issues. However, there is no english documentation, actually the the google translate equivalent in China yields some very funny results… but not clear English. In a nutshell, external connector type is Johnson, with a 6mm retaining pin. The mix for the first ten (10) hours of burn-in is 30:1, and after that, it is 50:1. To run using internal tank, open the vent built-in to the gas cap- it is not automatically vented., and remember to close when done to avoid spills, or just losing a whole tank’s worth to evaporation. Also, using internal tank- turn the valve on the right side (towards transom reference) to vertical. Lastly, stick the c-shaped key (they call is a flame-out key) under the red button( pull this out to engage spark plug.) in the space under the red button. Place in neutral( lever on left side in middle of three positions) and pull rip chord until it starts. First time, let if idle for a while until it stops smoking. Make sure you see water squirting out of the motor (of course, this is done with business end of motor in the water or it will burn out - water-cooled, remember?). Once there is no more smoke, or you’ve idled for 10 minutes(arbitrary time) with the throttle lose, still, push the gear lever back to to forward. If you have to back out, pull it towards you, but keep throttle low. Once clear, push gear lever away from you and go. Lots of fun to ride…. Don’t flip the bow up and swamp the boat. Start slowly, and put some ballast on the bow. There is a whole school of thought around trim tabs for later discussion. God bless you all! Addendum: Of course, the choke is needed for cold start. bottom left of forward-facing end of motor, next to the flame-out button. One issue I noticed, and I read this in another review - is that the plastic piece holding the choke button and actuators together - it should slide - is broken. This interferes with operation, so it will be necessary to epoxy the part together, or use something equivalent, but not shaped to fail. I think Hankai should do a better job of copying dies, and actually design them for optimum functioanlity - but, we benefit from this by a purchase 1/5 he cost of the original. ... show more
