One recommendation I suggest is to use blue thread locker on the bolts when installing so that you don’t have to re torque them years down the line. Affordable. Easy to put together. And had extra pieces. I got the 18" and it was actually a bit tall... so I reccoomend getting the 14". I will have to get a step stool for the bed for my cat. She's getting old. Pros: affordable, easy to put together, fast shipping. Comes with everything you need to assemble. Totally sturdy so no squeeking at all. Cons: screwing in screws I couldn't tell if it was tight enough and ended up bending the metal bars. Sharp corners and can definatly stub toes and hurt feet while bare foot. 18" a bit too tall. Does not come with clamps to keep bed from sliding off so I had to buy separately. ... show more

The small box has hardware, tool, instructions, and all the pieces to build a simple platform. I put it together by myself without the directions, because it’s just that simple. I bought 16” tall storage bins and they fit perfectly underneath (I bought the 18” tall frame). At 200lbs plus the temperpedic (sp) mattress, it is holding up well. Plenty of storage space below that really helped declutter the room. It was pricey for something so simple, but it functions the way I need it to function. So simple. Very stable with no creaking or movement. Works perfectly when you need a lot of under the bed storage. There are no holes to attach a headboard, so we used zip ties to hold ours in place.

Storage space under is nice, but every time me and my hubby get on and off the mattress the bars move and fall off. Also when putting it together when we tightened the bolds (by hand) it bent the metal. (I am a girl and not very strong. So obviously the metal isn't very high quality.

Setup was easy but as many people have previously stated, it tends to start making creaking noises after one month of use which is really annoying. It also makes my mattress feel a little stiffer than normal but I can ignore these faults for the fact I now have room for storage under my bed.
