I have a small house with 9 ton12 foot ceilings. I have a nice 5' ladder but I wanted to remove an older ceiling fan and install a new one. I read all the reviews, took a chance and ordered this one. The first thing I noticed was that it comes.with stabilizer bars. VERY NICE! As a woman who lives alone, those really helped! I was able to remove the old and install the new fixture with ease. The ladder is stable and sturdy and I am now equipped to do many things I couldn't before. VERY HAPPY

I bought this because I am replacing 20-year-old ceiling fans and then doing some painting. I was a little concerned because of the comments about it being too narrow. I'm 73, and I find it to be a fantastic ladder. The rungs are wide enough, and they are shaped well enough for me to stand comfortably while lifting and stretching. The hinges are way easier to use than my other adjustable ladders. The fact that it comes with planking is also a plus for me. I plan to use that feature when painting. It's also much lighter than my other adjustable ladders. I would buy this again.

Not sure how you can advertise this ladder as almost 24" wide, when the actual part you use, meaning the LADDER is only 14" wide ? The fact that the base or top piece is 24" is not what I would think the buyiing public is thinking about when selecting a ladder. What gives....why is this information not shared with buying public? Also, the rungs are difficult to use, would recommend a wider ladder (yes meaning the actual ladder portion) and flat steps if you plan on using often, if so, you should pass on this one...
