    • Title doesn't make sense. These are simple "Forstner bits". Like saying "multi, One size".
This is about as Forstners get anymore without flying to Switzerland. They're just... either bad or worse these days. These here work the best out of the box. Not deburred - be careful, they are VERY eager so start slow. Btw for the beginner/novice, these are for wood/plastic only.

After seeing some of the older reviews, I was really hoping that the box wasn’t all beat up and the bits weren’t rusty. Everything came in PERFECT condition. I immediately grabbed the 3/4” and the 2 1/2” and tried them out. Holy crap!!!! They drilled like a hot knife through butter with VERY little effort. Looking forward to using these every chance I get. Full disclosure!!!! I tried saving some money and I first tried one of those $40 sets. Um…..yeah. NOPE!!!! I thought Freud was supposed to be nice and sharp right out of the box,but it was not! I was working on Christmas gifts when I bought this, the 3 different ones that I used burnt the wood badly. I sharpened them myself so I could finish. You would think that for the money you pay for these, that you wouldn't have to do that. I'm still thinking I should send them back. NOT Happy ! And I did use low RPMs because i didn't want burnt wood. ... show more

I splurged and ordered the 16 Pcs. Precision Shear Serrated Edge Forstner Drill Bit Set. When it arrived, to my disappointment, the set was incomplete. There was an obvious missing bit, so I printed the bit listing and inventoried the set. I was missing the 1/4" and 3/38" bits and there were two 1/2" bits. Very disappointing. I haven't had an opportunity to use the bits yet, so I can't rate their effectiveness. As for now, I'm rating this set as a one star overall, and for value for money as I had higher expectations for such an expensive bit set. I will update depending on resolution from the company. Update: I contacted Freud Customer Support and made them aware of my problem and they sent the missing bits to complete my set. I've only used the bits a few times, but I'm very happy with their performance. ... show more

Finish is excellent. Cutting edges are razor sharp. My drill press pulls almost .5 amps less on a 2” hole in 1” oak vs a generic equivalent bit. 2-1/8” is 2.125” on the money, not metric equivalent. Case is joined hardwood with high quality/density foam cut perfectly. There’s just nothing bad I can say about this set. You get what you pay for and this set is worth every penny. Ordered on Sunday, drilling holes on Wednesday. Buy a set ‘cause you can’t borrow mine! ... show more

These arrived just in time to be used for a 3d printer spooling system I am building from thin plywood. I was able to easily cut out the holes for the pvc pipe to slide through and two smaller holes for bearings and all the holes were perfect with high dimensional accuracy. Just for fun, I cut a few larger holes in some scrap hardwood - quick, accurate, easy. These are far better than the big-box-store bits I have been using.
