    • How to fit American motors.
Okay there’s some bad reviews on this but I wanted to let you know that there’s hope for this. You absolutely need to be mechanical to install this but it’s significantly cheaper than the alternatives. I installed this on a predator 301cc. The crankshaft is too big and too long for this kit. You can cut 7/8” of the shaft with a grinder. I then used the “red neck lathe”. Turn the motor on and use an angle grinder with a flapper wheel to slim down the shaft and straighten the cut. Check often by trying to install the shaft. Hope this helps. ... show more

    • Never wait you money on this junk
Horrible product, come in beat up an used in th box, box look just as bad when it showed up, then I proceeded to open half the parts in it where rusty and missing a bunch of parts. Rather spend the $200 more and get a real brand made with good care.

Item is listed as a “15HP Outboard Motor Kit.” However, after purchasing the kit for a 15 HP motor and being unable to mount it to the engine, a representative said it was for up to a 170cc engine, which coverts to an ~8-11HP engine. They also said it is meant to fit a 22mm engine shaft, but the standard shaft size for a 15HP motor is 1”/25.4mm and the smaller shaft standards are 3/4”/19mm or 5/8”/15.9mm, so 22mm doesn’t match any of the three standard sizes. In addition, the socket for the shaft was also 1” shorter than the 15HP engine shaft, so it would not be possible to mount the kit flush to the engine. Nothing is square. Nothing is straight. The output shaft of the motor didn’t fit into the socket of the prop shaft. Luckily I have a machine shop and could make all of the spacers needed to get it all put together. The prop isn’t really a prop. It’s steel plates poorly welded to an acorn nut. It cavitates if I run the motor over 6mph. All junk. ... show more
