Description

Don’t be fooled into thinking the Ibanez GSR Mikro is a toy. It’s made to the same high standards of the other GIO series guitars. The GSRM20 features, small scale SR body, full sound pickups, the same construction, same materials, and same set-up and inspection as its full size counterparts. Its shorter 28.6” scale makes it perfect for tour buses, space-restricted home studios, folks with smaller hands, as well as young rockers or beginners.

  • Lightweight marvel, easy and fun to play.
Color: Black Style: Guitar
This is an amazing bass for the price! The shorter scale and somewhat reduced tension on the strings make playing fast and fun. I actually like the tone better than my larger 5-string bass; and the reduced weight is easier on my shoulder. There is a small amount of hum when the bridge pickup is turned way up - would not do for recording, but for live playing it's not enough to matter, I just use mostly the other pickup. The bass is well made; the tuners are really nice. The factory setup was spot on; I didn't need to do a thing. I'm really glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Great bass sound, in compact package
Color: Weathered Black Style: 4-String
Great bass when a more compact size is needed. It's basically the same size as a guitar. I replaced the strings on mine with flat wounds, bc I prefer that kind of sound. Easy, and the strings that came with it, are quality rounds. Tuners are quality and work well holding tune. I didn't need any setup, the neck was flat and perfect distance set at bridge. It's a great bass, and only the top 1% could hear the difference. I have a full size Yamaha, and they sound nearly identical. I do like feel like the single coildnp and j pickups are little low on the quality side, but for this price, I think they're right on the money (pun intended). ... show more

  • Child-sized but I’m happy
Color: Walnut Flat Style: 4-String
I ordered this guitar on a whim because I was looking for an electric guitar and they had a used, very good for a substantial discount. So, I pulled the trigger. Glad that I did. The guitar is very small, but pretty and plays so easily. I am an accomplished guitarist and keyboard player on piano and organ and play in bands. I needed a bass guitar to do some recording. This will do just fine. I would not be ashamed to appear in public playing this either. ... show more

  • Good Bass but don't get Refurbished
Color: Black Style: Guitar
Starting off with the guitar itself, it sounds great, easy to frett if you have small hands. Bought this unit refurbished. It came in a box haphazardly taped together almost falling apart and the set up was quite awful. Action was way too low, , truss rod too tight, so the frett buzzed even playing an open string. Too an hour or so to fix. Now the worst part, I noticed the output jack to be quite loose and free spinning, removed the back panel to get to the wiring and saw an awful soldering job, whoever owned it last did not know what they were doing. Neutral and ground wires were poorly stripped and barely attached on to potentiometer and the jack with a tiny bit of solder. The basement guitar itself is good, would buy new instead of trying to save 10 or 20 dollars getting a liked new refurbished ... show more

  • This really surprised me!
Color: Walnut Flat Style: 4-String
I have been playing a Squire Classic Vibes Mustang bass & always wanted to try one of these out. The sound really impressed me. It had way more definition than my Mustang bass & more versatility. The 28.6” scale length took a little getting used to because your arm doesn’t stretch out but once I got used to it, it became more comfortable. I recommend purchasing the Ibanez Mikro bass soft case. It’s nicer than my more expense Fender case and has 2 more pockets. I really like the walnut finish because it doesn’t attract finger prints. It’s very light with very little to no neck-dive The only CON I had was the bass being noisy. If you live in a home that has interference, you will hear noise. All I did was shielded it using copper shield tape found here on Amazon and I lined both pickup cavities and the control cavity and I soldered a wire from the P-bass cavity to the J cavity and from there to the 1st volume pot and it’s nearly completely silent. I know my home is noisy because my Mustang not the Mikro made noise at 2 different music stores before shielding. ... show more

  • Great Product, Great Quality!
Color: Black Style: Guitar
I am thrilled with my purchase. It is the smallest bass I've ever seen, which I need because I'm short with short arms. Everything works and I would recommend this guitar to beginners or more advanced players. It holds it's tuning and sounds great!

  • The Guitar Player's Perfect Guilty Pleasure Short Scale Bass!
Color: Weathered Black Style: 4-String
Just my opinion, but this just might be the guitar player's perfect guilty pleasure short scale bass! With its remarkably short 28" scale, it's so comfortable, balanced, light & easy to play! Amazingly inexpensive. Flawless fit & finish (at least mine was right out of the box - and in a really gorgeous matte slightly textured weathered black finish w/all black hardware). Just one minor out of the box issue - slight buzzing, but only on the E string and only when fretting the E on the first fret. So, possibly the second fret needed/needs minor dressing - but that was more than I wanted to attempt, so instead I simply raised the E string a hair at the bridge and the buzz was instantly gone, with no effect on E string volume that I could detect. The pickups sound fine to me. A true little gem at a truly bargain price. (Note - the gig bag was not included - it was a separate purchase - but for the price what can you expect?!) ... show more
