It you're a Carpenter and/or Woodworker... just get these. Pros: Mark well on a variety of materials Less sharpening Built in sharpener All have clothing clips Incredible value Cons It would be nice to have a heavier duty case, but for the price this is minor. I'm a carpenter and woodworker by trade. While I used mechanical pencils in my workshop and for fine work, out in the field I still used the square carpenters pencils. Partially because I would lose them all the time. The first day I used these I decided I'll never go back to the square ones. There are 3 reasons I wanted to ditch the square ones. They are cheap and the leads constantly break. They require constant sharpening if your doing anything but rough in work. I lose them constantly. Seriously I had to have 3-4 pencils handy all the time so I wouldn't have to search for them. These are easy to keep sharp and if you're doing rough in work there isn't a need to. The built in sharpener means at anytime you can shave then to a super fine out. The build quality is solid and they just feel good in my hands. I bought this set for my husband. He's an industrial plumber, and he was genuinely impressed with it. He uses carpenter pencils all the time for marking different materials, and he said the mechanical pencils are light but sturdy and easy to use. They look sleek and clip easily to his pants. He said they're plastic, but they don't constantly break like some cheaper ones. He also likes having the center punch and carbide scribe in the same kit, he said. Idk what that is; I just smiled and said: "Great, I thought you'd like it because I saw so many options." Like, girl, because everything he needs is together in one case. The extra refills are a nice bonus, and the carrying case keeps it organized in his work bag. I carry 2 of these pencils in my pocket at all times. Very good quality. Annoys the living snot out of my wife for some reason. Thinking of carrying three. Pencils are high quality, Mark well on wood. Lead is soft, non-marring to softer woods. Very pleased with quality.
