Gave my dad his independence back

We used to push my dad around everywhere in a regular manual chair, and honestly it was getting hard on all of us. His arms just don't have the strength for a self-propel one anymore. So we figured we'd try one of these powered ones and see if he could handle it on his own. Turns out he picked up the joystick thing pretty fast. Took him a day or two to stop jerking it around but now he zips through the house and around the block no problem. The range is solid too. He's gone out for a couple hours at a time and still had plenty of battery left. It handles the little bumps and cracks in our sidewalk without rattling him around, which was my biggest worry. The folding is easy enough but I'll be honest, even without the battery it's not exactly featherlight. Lifting it into the trunk still takes a little effort and a good grip. The seat padding is comfy and he says he can sit in it a long time without getting sore. Overall we're really happy with it. It's given him a lot of his freedom back and that alone was worth it.

What I didn't know I needed made my life easy.

This chair is exactly what was missing, a regular wheelchair is such a hassle around the house and outside, people wanting to push you etc... With this you have the freedom to move and at multiple speeds. It handles very very well on rough terrain, carpet, wood floors, and ceramic. Even on inclines and declines the chair can take care of it all. On top of the electronic braking, it still has safety measures where you can manually stop it if needed. Best of all, the airline allowed me to take this on the plane along with me. No issues with the battery or the chair. Its the perfect size, not too big not too small and carries my weight easily. Truly a life saver this chair.
