My Husband wanted a secure way to store a few more rifles, shotguns and pistols. This KAER 15-20 Gun Safe ended up being a great choice for our situation. I wanted to get this, and get it put together for his surprise birthday party. It’s worth mentioning up front — it arrives unassembled in two boxes and definitely takes a little time and patience to put together. The instructions could be clearer, and the parts aren't labeled, but once you know to compare the looks of the parts to the pictures, it gets you rolling and comes together fine. It took me about 2 1/2 hours by myself, but if it wasn't a surprise and my husband, we could have assembled it in less than half the time. Once assembled, it’s sturdy and looks great. I really like the dual locking system (digital keypad + keys). It's also very nice to have an external battery backup for the key pad. He likes to hear the beeping sound when he presses the numbers on the digital key pad, but it has the option of turning off the sounds, which is what I preferred. The adjustable shelf and removable drawer add flexibility depending on what you want to store. You should know that this is not a set of super heavy-duty fire-proof safes, but the door on each one weighs a lot and is very heavy but they do secure of each of the safes. My kids often bring our grandchildren over and I wanted to make sure they don't sneak into our bedroom and play with any of my husband's guns that couldn't fit in his other safes. It's also very nice to keep guests, or casual snoopers away from his firearms and does it's does it's job well. The fit and finish looks extremely attractive and the safes look very durable. I was pleasantly surprised on how nice the whole setup looks. In comparison to my husband's other safes, I think this one tops them all. Additionally, the finish is so nicely done that we made no scratches during setup, even with a few bumps. Pros: ✔️ Sturdy build once assembled ✔️ Dual locks (keypad + backup keys) for extra security ✔️ Silent mode and low-battery backup via USB ✔️ Adjustable shelves and separate locking drawer ✔️ Good value for the price ✔️ Sleek black finish, is strong and looks nice Cons: ➖ Assembly instructions could be a bit clearer ➖ Definitely a cabinet for safety, not a heavy-duty fireproof safe Overall, if you understand what you’re buying — a good-quality gun cabinet, not a $1,000+ fireproof safe — you’ll probably be really happy, just are we are. It’s a great value for the price and is perfect for home firearm storage.

Okay, I’ve got a bit of a story, but it has a happy ending—so stick with me! I initially ordered a smaller version of this safe, but once I assembled it, I realized my 48-inch item just wasn’t going to fit, no matter how I angled it. So, I processed a return and went for the larger model instead. The larger safe arrived in two boxes, and unfortunately, one of them was visibly damaged during delivery (definitely a shipping issue, not the packaging). I reached out to the seller and—boom—customer service magic happened. They didn’t miss a beat and had a replacement part shipped out immediately. I had it in my hands within two days. No drama, no hassle. Assembly was smooth, and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality of the safe. Sure, it’s not fireproof—but I didn’t pay thousands for it either. Got it for my father, he lives out on 10 acres, and owns a lot of rifles. So needed a place to keep them safe when the grandkids visit. This was perfect since it’s big, solid, and safe. Ngl it’s literally a beast. Bolted it to the concrete, no wobble, doesn’t feel flimsy. Was pretty easy to do, just look on the guide or watch a YouTube video, there’s plenty on there on the best practices to installing a gun safe. Door shuts clean, combo locks smooth. Got space for long guns, pistols, ammo, and the important docs. Everything in one place, finally. Worth every penny 👍

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It was more in line with what I was looking for. I didn't want some enormous and heavy safe. Storage capacity: Looks like it should fill my needs. May add another shelf cabinet in the future. Look: Looks great. It did have some damage in shipping but still went together good and I his the damage by attaching the shelf cabinet to the damaged side if the gun cabinet. Ease of setup: It went together very easily. Don't try to over tighten the screws though. Directions were easy to figure out. Key functionality: Setting the combination was easy and all the keys work well. If highly recommend this product.

The safe itself is fine...or I think it will be fine after I have spent literal hours trying to put it together. I bought the smaller version first and that came pre-assembled. Please be warned, the larger version does NOT. And to call the pamphlet that arrives with it "instructions" is being kind. I could not give this more than three stars simply because it should not be this hard. First of all, NOTHING is labeled. So you have several black metal pieces, many of which look identical. And the booklet they send is so small, and the pictures so grainy, that they may as well sent nothing, you are basically going in blind. I have never spent so long assembling anything in my life. I spent several hours on it yesterday, and I'm still not done and I wonder if I will even manage to finish it today. And that is just one half because I haven't received the other half yet. You get what you pay for, I guess. But the smaller safe was a good experience for me and I wasn't expecting this level of hell awaiting me with the bigger one. Be aware.
