I gave this 5 stars not because it’s the best safe money can buy but because it’s a great rifle cabinet you can get for this price. I wasn’t expecting much but it did exceed my expectations. A rifle cabinet that locks preventing children, prying adults and thieves from immediate access. I didn’t even expect the finger print reader to work all that well but it does. It arrived assembled. Huge plus. A lot of these you need to assemble yourself. It’s front heavy when opened so you will need to mount it. Like every cabinet the number of rifles is never what they say unless you have a collection of small hunting rifles. Anything with gear and magazines on it is going to take up 75% the space. The gun holders on the door won’t fit anything bigger than a micro compact. So if you have a collection of 3 micro 9’s and 380 this is perfect. So I’m going to be changing that out better holders of magazine pouches. It does the job.

I bought this to keep my firearms secured against accidental access by family. This case doesn't seem to be very theft proof. The walls aren't reinforced, and can be cut through without too much trouble. The case MUST be mounted with the included hardware, as the door is the heaviest part and it will fall over if you open it. The Safe is VERY lightweight, so mounting it to a solid object is the only way to avoid the whole thing being carried off. The biometric lock works flawlessly, the keys work flawlessly, and the code input was easy to set up and works perfectly. This ISN'T a big name ultra secure safe, and it's not meant to be. Just be aware of it's shortcomings, and plan ahead. It works for what I needed it for flawlessly.

I like this cabinet and it is a reliable place to safely store firearms, but if your rifles have a scope on them, this cabinet is too shallow from front to back to store them properly. I have to turn my rifles sideways and wiggle them into position to get the door to close. I would not buy this cabinet again because it is too shallow front-to-back for more than three scoped rifles. The locking mechanism works well and all of the controls work well. The instruction paper is clearly written and setup is easy. The batteries go in the side edge of the door beneath the light module. For the money, it is a good value because you actually can store three scoped rifles in it, but if you buy another scoped rifle, you will want a second cabinet.

I needed a bigger safe, and the EMAXEE 6-8 Biometric Gun Safe Rifle stood out because of its price (I got it for USD 199.99 incl shipping) and size. It arrived fully assembled, and the packaging was impressive. Double boxed, metal corner protectors, very nice. The panel is a bit confusing to set up, especially since I put it into mute mode first and then found that that also suppressed be feedback beeps when you're programming your code or fingerprints. The safe is pretty heavy, definitely feels like the steel is a bit thicker. Based on the weight for its size it seems to be heavier steel than some other safes I was checking out. Things I like: - The keyhole has a sliding cover - The display is nice (it's LED, not LCD as the description says) - On the inside, the felt padding is glued on, not the loose mats that keep moving as in my old safe - Entering the PIN code or scanning fingerprint immediately allows you to open the door with the handle, while on my old safe (with only keypad) I had to enter the PIN code, press a button, turn a knob, and then I could finally open it by turning the handle Things I would like to see improved: - I would had liked the safe a bit taller, my longest rifle is 48" so I had to remove the shelf - The shelf height is not adjustable, would have been nice if there were two or three positions - The display keeps saying "Set" while according to the manual it should say "Ok", just a bit confusing - Rubber padding where the door meets the frame could be a bit thicker; the door rattled a bit when closed so I had to add more padding
