I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this set for the price. I've purchased more expensive "name brand" big box store sets costing 2-3x as much that weren't this nice. Each knife is well balanced with a proper heft. The handle design and geometry is comfortable for long use sessions. The knife steel retains an edge well (very well for the price) and is fairly easy to sharpen / touch up when necessary. The factory edge was nice and even (and quite sharp), which makes edge maintenance all that much easier. The shears are quite capable and heavy duty for their size. The handle design is not quite as comfortable as the knives, being a bit more squared off. This tradeoff does provide for a more stable grip, in my opinion. They are a bit larger than most, so may be a bit less useable for small hands. Note that these are proper shears and rip through meat/bone with little effort. However, they don't function well as scissors. The knife block is a mixed bag for me. I appreciate the vertical design taking up less counter space, but it also prevents quick access when stored under cabinets. I do wish the block was a bit wider all around to allow for easier access to individual knives. This would increase counter space requirements, however. The block itself is high quality and heavy, no complaints there. The only thing this set is missing is a nice high quality knife steel. I do miss easy access to a steel for quick edge tuning. This led me to buying a magnetic vertical knife block to store my steel and additional knives. Overall I'm pleased with the set, especially at the price point. You're getting much higher quality equipment than you'd expect for the price.

These knives caught my eye because they are so pretty! The wood handles are really pretty and super modern looking. The knives are sharp and seem like they are going to last a long time. This set comes with everything that you need for a good standard knife set up for your kitchen. The downsides are that they knives need to be hand washed, the wood on the handles has not been sealed so to help them last longer you will need to hand wash and dry off as soon as possible after use. I also do not like that the block is not at a slant so it makes it hard to put this on top of my counter and under standard height upper cabinets because the knives are too tall and you can not take them out without manually tilting the block or moving it out from under the cabinets. So that design needs to be adjusted so that you can pull them out easier.

This kitchen knife set is a big upgrade over my original knife set. Better quality blades with a much more attractive look. The wood handles on the knives have a great feel to them. The wood is super smooth. The large knives have a nice balance while holding. The blades or handles don't want tip in either direction. The kitchen shears were what attracted me to this knife set, and I am sure glad to own them now. The shears have thick blades, and the notch helps keep control of the object being cut.

We love the way this looks, and they are very well made. This is as much an accent decoration on the kitchen counter as it is an easy access utility function. We previously had all of our knives stored in drawers, since they were nothing much to look at. Always have to open the drawer, carefully sort through and find the knife you were looking for. With this set, we like having them out on display, and the benefit is they are also very easy to access for use. So far all of the knives have kept their edges well. Love the shears too as they are very robust. The only regret we have is not picking up a set of these sooner!

These are wonderful, sharp, and well-crafted knives. I love the real wood handles when so many things are composite now. They are beautifully smooth and luxurious. It should be noted that these knives are a little higher maintenance because of the wood handles and stainless steel blades. I'm used to hand-washing my knives and caring for the blades, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't come with a sharpening rod. That's a must for knives! Lastly, the block holds your knife upright which is a great space-saver, but if you keep your block under cabinets like I do they can be a bit difficult to get out. That's my only complaint. They are fantastic knives and I hope to have them for many years!

Got this for my son who is (HOPEFULLY) moving out soon. This is a really nice set of knives. SUPER sharp, and have nice handles on them. Even comes with a set of beefy kitchen shears. He shredded a rotisserie chicken with those things in no time at all. Great set of knives. A+

I was hoping these would be a good quality knife set and I was not disappointed! These are actually nicer than I thought at this price point, and what I mean by that is for this price, I kind of expected something less, but I am here to tell you that these are great. The wood handles make them look so nice and they feel nice when you hold them. also, back to the price point, I didnt expect a full set of steak knives, normally you would get all the basic knives, plus a kitchen scissor, but these come with steak knives and I am here for it. the block is just what you expect, nothing special, but it is made to take up less space on your counter than the ones that are on an angle. I am very happy with these, really nice!
