This is a well made and solid frame that is much better than the G base it replaced. Relatively easy to assemble, in spite of the poor instructions. The legs are solid and have plastic inserts so shouldn't mar hard floors. The lack of the flimsy cross pieces found on a G base allow for more underbed storage. We got the 14 inch for tote storage and it works pretty well. The 18" option might have been better but I was concerned that, paired with a 12" mattress, might have been too high. The options go from 12 to 14 then jumps to 18 so a 16 would have been nice. Overall a great alternative to the G base at a much better price point. ... show more

It's sturdy enough but the square corners stick out from the rounded mattress corners and the metal frame is so slick that the mattress slides all over with any movement. Just sitting on it causes it to slide.
