I don't know a ton about metal detectors, but this one seems pretty awesome. Assembly took about 2 minutes and it includes everything you need to immediately start hunting. We have loved seeing what oddities are buried around our area, and it was a blast at the beach! The pinpoint locate ability is pretty cool, allowing you to really narrow down where something is buried. The depth gauge seeks fairly accurate, I'd say within 1-3".

Purchased this 1 year ago. Works great. Had the battery cover fall off somewhere, texted their customer service and they sent me a replacement ( out of warranty) at no charge. Great company, highly recommend.

A few aspects You need to know before You consider buying This detector My story i received my product and tried it at home to check how deep it can detect and how well the discrimination works. After the first test i didnt get the results i was expecting and looking for, althought i know is not a well known brand like garret or minelab, for the price range and 13 inch coil it just do not has a good performance, i could also compare it with a lower cost detector, getting better results with my DR OTEK, that is half the price. I decided to give it a second chance and tested it in field, but even without the interference of electronic devices, it wont gave a good performance. In field it was hard to use because of weight and the fact that is no very ergonomic, so i finish my travel tired specially on my forearm, PinPoint was useless because it starts beep around all the coil and not the center wich is suposed to do, lucky i got my hand pinpointer with me, To finish, customer service experience wasnt good at all, they Will give You excuses and Will ask You for as many evidence as you imagine for a refund or change. Please think twice before Your purchase

I was reading the reviews on several metal detector. It was to be my second unit as I own the older Bounty Hunter. When it arrived, it was well packaged, easy to assemble. I started the performance testing and this is where I lost interest in it! It can't distinguish between a gold ring and the iron object or coin. It produces the same sound pitch for these objects. The reading panel is a bit difficult to read from an angle when you hold it in a searching mode. The claimed depth detection for larger metal objects to be up to 2-3 ft is not true! It can't detect the large kitchen knife from more than 8 inches through air. Maybe a good toy for kids, but I believe you can get cheaper unit for kids to play with. The accessories are nice but the real purpose for me was to be able to use its metal detection capacity. Not recommended!
