I originally purchased this for camping but we did not need it (thankfully). When I came home from camping, the motor on my window went in my Jeep but I was leaving for a road trip to NC and didn't have time to get it replaced so I used the tarp to cover my Jeep door.     • Not durable nor waterproof

Used as a shade and rain structure on the back porch. Pitching it for the first time, the material started pulling away from the grommets creating holes. It was up for a month under a redwood canopy (limited direct sunlight) before the first rains came. The rain runs off it fine, but there was an area where water pooled before accumulating enough to run off. In this place the water started soaking through and dripping underneath after just a few hours. If you can't pitch this in an A frame, this tarp will not be able to protect anything from water seepage, and the grommets are a joke. After pitching it the first day I said to a friend I'd be lucky if it lasted the season (through the winter) but apparently, it couldn't last through the first rainy day. If all you need is a ground tarp for a tent or something to temporarily shed water or protect from dust, it'll work. But I wouldn't try to protect anything for longer than a day in wet weather unless you can pitch it taut in an A frame, and even once you do that, the grommets will start to tear out. I've had two other blue tarps for decades that I think I bought at drug stores that have gone on many camping and backpacking trips, have covered things in the back of the truck, and have been used to cover things in the backyard for entire seasons and are still going strong. No damage to grommets, no tears, no leaks, and many, many storms. They're both thicker than this, so I guess I wouldn't trust any of these 5mil tarps for anything more than a groundcloth.     • Ok, but not heavy duty

On the first use of this tarp (used under and folded over a blow-up swimming pool), two of the grommets at the corners tore out of the tarp. The tarp is pretty thin for being described as “heavy duty”. We used it for 7 days before deflating our pool and putting the tarp away. We did notice discoloration and thinning of the material where water had collected between the pool bottom and the tarp. The second time we used the tarp was, again, to set the inflatable pool on and to cover the pool. We placed the part without the grommets under the pool this time and used the rest to cover over the pool. This was up for only 5 days this time. When we took it down, there was “shredded” plastic where the tarp has weakened near the other 2 corner grommets. We figure we might get one more use (under the pool) out of this tarp before we have to throw it away. There are just too many areas of weakened spots to be able to use it for anything else. ... show more

So I was going to a festival and I knew I needed a tarp. This was the only one that could arrive before the time I had to leave. I'd read the reviews and was a little worried, but I knew I'd probably end up tossing the tarp after the festival anyway. It arrived and in great condition! Sure its thing, but it was waterproof and no tears, which is exactly what I needed. It rained during the festival, and I know for a fact if we hadn't had the tarp, things would have been 10 times worse. I threw it away after the 5 days, it did manage to get punctured by some particularly spikey grass. But It served our purpose! ... show more

Good quality especially for the value. We used it to cover a sand table in our backyard to keep the sand fresh from rain and leaves coming down from trees. And also stray cats doing their business. Has held up and kept our sand relatively moisture free.

    • Definitely held up for what I needed it for

Puppy area, Laid foam tiles ontop the tarp and when liquid went under the tiles the tarp kept my floors dry. Eventually I pulled all the foam tiles up and laid pee pads on top the tarp. When the puppies would move the pads and have accidents on the tarp it was super easy to clean up and endured 1 months of moping twice a day before I didnt need the tarp anymore.
