Description

Color Name:White | Size Name:12x16 Feet Customers have trusted the DRY TOP brand for over 30 years. Pay close attention to actual spec information, as not all tarps are created equal. With our “Good, Better, Best” lineup along with our specialty tarps you are sure to find the right tarp for the job. DRY TOP tarps are full finished size vs. cut size. When purchasing a tarp it is important to note the “cut size” vs. the “finished size”. Our DRY TOP brand Medium Duty and Heavy Duty tarps are cut larger so they finish to a full size. The industry standard is that tarps are cut and then finish up to 1’ shorter on each side after closing seams and hemming. For example, an industry standard 5’x7’ is rough cut at that size and finishes approximately 6” shorter. That’s almost 20% shorter than the listed size after it’s finished! Make sure your tarp is a DRY TOP tarp for a FULL FINISHED SIZE. DRY TOP Heavy Duty tarps are a dual laminated, 14x14 weave, polyethylene woven tarp. These tarps have plastic capped reinforced corners, rope reinforced hems, rust-resistant aluminum grommets on corners and approximately every 18”, UV treatment, and are a full finished size (+/- 3%). Available in 24 sizes and either white or silver/brown reversible colors. Always make sure that your tarps are securely tied down. Do not allow product to “flap” in the wind as this will drastically reduce the life of the product. Covered items should be adequately ventilated at all times. Keep product away from fire, as it will ignite and burn if brought into contact with an open flame. From the Manufacturer This White reversible polyethylene tarp is a full finished size opposed to other cut size tarps. The super heavy duty polyethylene material is 5.5 oz./sq.yrd., 14 X 14 cross weave, laminated on both sides, and UV treated for maximum weatherproofing and tear resistance

  • Not waterproof.
I am really bummed about this tarp. I have a back patio covering that isn't fully covered, it has like slats that let sunlight and water through and I thought If I secured this over the top I could make it waterproof so my expensive furniture doesn't get wet. Unfortunately we only had it up for about a week and there is water pooling in spots and coming through. I understand that some tarps are water resistant but this one claims to be waterproof and it wasn't up long enough to have any damage. I'm not impressed and back on the hunt. ... show more

  • Good product
I used this tarp as a cover for a 10x16 canopy on my deck. I installed it in June, 2008, and it lasted until March, 2010 when it finally began to tear. This was in continuous outdoor use in Atlanta, GA. I used zip-ties to secure it to a standard 1-3/8" tubular steel frame. It was the perfect width (10' wide frame with pitched roof), but was a little long (frame was shorter than 16') so I used zip-ties at one end and hung plants from the grommets at the other end. The weight of the hanging plants kept it pulled tight the whole time and the grommets never ripped out, even through severe storms. When it finally began to tear, it was along the ridge of the roof where it's exposed most to rain, sun, squirrels, stretching, etc. The reason I'm reviewing it now is because I came back to buy the exact same product. ... show more

  • Did not last
Worked OK out of the bag and this is like the 3rd in 12 years I use to cover my deck and most last for many years (different brands) and I change them because they just get too dirty. This one did not last a year and started leaking everywhere... I am reordering a new one, but not one of theirs...

  • Excellent RV project tarp.
I bought this tarp to cover the top and front bunkhouse of a class C RV during a rebuild. It worked very well. Is flexible enough, yet sturdy enough and it was in constant use for 4 months in the elements. Secured with ropes through the grommets and to tent stakes on either side, it stayed well during storms without issue while the windows were out, and the tent stakes could be moved to "lift" the tarp to more of an "a-frame" on the sides so it could still provide shade while working under neath it. Since it is white, it doesn't stick out and advertise that you "have a problem" like the blue or brown ones would. A lot of passersby from a distance didn't even notice that it was under tarp unless I mentioned it. It actually made the project site look more professional. ... show more

  • Great camper awning
We bought this tarp to make an awning for the front of our A frame pop up camper. It is the perfect weight and toughness. And the white color reflects the heat, but let’s filtered light through. Along with the 3 adjustable tent poles, and a pack of paracord, we got a great, inexpensive, generous-sized awning that works as well as many expensive ones. ... show more

  • Worked well for shading a chicken run and keeping the rain off.
Second time I have purchased one of these to cover our chicken run. first lasted 2 years in SC. Actually the first one is still up but is getting replace because of some rips and tears developing in it. We could probably patch it and get it to limp ok through another year. Will be installing this one directly over the original. I consider it to have been a good buy as it has lasted about 2 x what a generic tarp from wall mart or home depot would have lasted. Being white is a bonus for keeping the run cooler in the sun. ... show more

  • Best Tarp I've EVER Owned.
Liked the 12' X 16' so well? I bought another in the 10' X 12' size. Awesome piece of camping equipment for me. I hang tarps up when I go camping out at my property in Western Washington. And just about anyplace else I go. I've used a lot of those less expensive tarps too. And the blue light experience isn't too bad. IF you know how to tie one out right you'll never rip an eye grommet out though. See? What you HAVE to do is? Run a rope through all the eyes. Whole circumference, one rope. THEN if and when you get it up and want to stake it or tie it down to something? Use some different cord or rope and tie off to the rope that goes through the eyes. MUCH less tension on the tarp that way. Also a lot more handy to adjust it AND you can actually use a lot more stakes and tie downs that way, too. I got some of the 3/8" X 50' camo rope from Amazon and it works great for this. THEN I also got a 1,000' spool of knock off 550 cord. Works great too. These white tarps reflect a lot of heat. Tent does not turn into an instant oven the second sunlight hits it now. Well? Guess sunlight doesn't hit the tent anymore now, does it? Cool shade. Great rain cover. Fantastic price. Great service through Amazon. And I'm going camping. G. ... show more

  • Ice skating rink tarp!
This tarp has been holding water that's been slowly turning to ice over the last 3 days in our diy ice skating rink. It's held up so far against our winter weather!
