I bought this for my kayak for which I have built a transom to add a trolling motor (I will often go out for a long 3-4 hours day and like to be able to add some motor power). The motor is a Newport electric motor with 35 lb. thrust capability. I have used that motor at highest speeds for about 1 1/2 hours often pulling a tethered kayak and the battery has only dropped from 13.2 to 12. 2 volts. (they recommend to not go below 11 volts) However, it is heavy!! At first I had it placed behind me, but between my weight and adding battery weight to the back in addition to the weight of the motor, I only had about 1 inch leeway before the kayak would have gone under. I now place the battery in front of me and it fits perfectly between my legs as they are spread to the footholds in the kayak. ... show more

I've only used this battery one time thus far but I'm pretty impressed with it. Was out for 5 hours on my 80lb kayak + gear while also pulling my wife and her kayak all around the lake yesterday. Checked it at the end of the day and it's still reading full. Considering the price of other batteries this seems to be an amazing compromise. Would reccommend for kayak fishing. 👌 ... show more

Almost 2 years old since i bought this. Its spent plenty nights in a battery box sitting in my truck during freezing nights, and its still taking charge and holding voltage just fine. battery tech changed a lot since i bought this, so i probably wouldnt buy again or use for a trolling motor any more, but im still getting use out of this for running a heavy duty 12v tire inflator. Depending on price...it might be a good choice for many uses and projects. ... show more

This battery has been dependable for my little 10 foot boat; but I wish it lasted longer. I guess I usually get about 3 hours worth; but at least it works every time, unlike the more expensive "super" battery I also bought.

Have used this battery multiple times this summer. It is great. It works flawlessly with my 46lb trolling motor. After being out on the water trolling for 2-3 hours it still has nearly a full charge. I had good luck with the Might Max 35AH battery but this 55AH is so worth the extra $40.

Batteries just fine. Don’t take it right out of the box and use it or you’re gonna be disappointed. You have to put it on a trickle charge until it’s 100%. And I would definitely recommend their recommendation of not taking it below 25%. This is not off the cuff advice, I’m 58 and my daddy was a mechanic so I know the drill. JTP ... show more

I use this battery to run my 30 pound thrust Minnkota trolling motor. I live on Lake Akoni in Georgia, and I can get about 4 hours of constant full speed use, and about 6 hours of medium speed use. I have not pushed it past that, but when I get done I still have about 60% battery left. The battery is on the heavy side, but I would recommend this over the 35 AE pushed it past that, but when I get done I still have about 60% battery left.
