In transportation, the thin wires of the BMS are cut and the battery drops to 5.5 volts. The only way to recover it is to open it and solder the BMS wires.

I've been using this battery connected to a dedicated solar panel and MPPT. It holds enough charge to power a few outdoor lights I have in my front yard for about 5 hours. After 3 months of use there hasn't been any noticeable reduction in power.

I charged it from empty with a 4A charger (according to the manual you could charge this at up to 12A). Total charge time was 3 hours. During that time I monitored the current and voltage every 10 minutes. My total power input was 167Wh, the battery is rated 153Wh (about 10% over). I didn't do a full discharge test, but charge life has been about right for my load. When fully drained, drops output to 0.25V or so. Does not recover until a charger is applied. Seems fine, but it's different behavior than some other protection circuits that recover after the load is removed. Minimum voltage I saw before cutoff was 10.6V. Weighs 3 lb 2.6 oz (1.43kg). Measured 15 x 9.9 x 9.6 cm (L W H) or 5.9 x 3.85 x 3.8 inches. Not including terminals. Case seems well sealed. No flex around the top/bottom seam. The sides are solid, but the top and bottom have some flex to them when squeezed. It has the larger 1/4" (6.5mm) F2 type terminals.

For years, the only option for small capacity alarm and lighting batteries were Sealed Lead/Acid (SLA) batteries which were heavy, short lived, and not very heat tolerant. This new crop of Lithium Ion (LiFePO4) batteries eliminates all the shortcomings of the old lead acid batteries, while being much lighter weight, exhibiting more available recharge cycles, and having a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) to protect against overcharge, over current, and short circuits, a feature not found on old SLA batteries. I am using this battery as overnight storage and power delivery in a solar powered outdoor utility building lighting system. It fits easily in the allotted space and delivers more power for longer periods than the old SLA battery of similar size. Of course, due to review deadlines, I cannot yet comment on its durability, but other LiFePO4 batteries I have used for this job in other buildings have been in continuous service for years. This battery looks carefully constructed of quality materials and came nearly fully charged and very well packaged, giving me confidence that this brand will perform as well or better than any I have used in the past.

I tested out this battery, the 12 Ah HumsiENK battery, at the same time as examining 3 other 12 AH batteries. They all had the same injection molding marks on their cases and were all identical except for case color and labels. Since all performed the same, I am writing one review. The batteries all had roughly the same charge (13.5-13.7) when I got them. The charge/discharge profiles were the same when used with a 150W inverter and group charged on a 10 amp LiFePO4 charger. They put out a good amount of power before the low voltage cutoff kicked in. After a full recharge, each held around 13.6 volts for over a week. I was impressed with the performance of all the batteries and think the only difference between them is the price (and color). They will be a great addition to my portable power bank!

I got this to make a backup power supply for car camping. I didn't want to pay the higher prices of some premade unit so my plan is to connect a solar charge controller to this and a power inverter that has USC and standard outlets I can use while car camping to recharge the smaller power banks we carry in our backpacks when out hiking or away from the tent. AT 12Ah it should recharge our power banks a couple of times before this battery needs to be recharged and if I connect the solar charge controller and a 100W solar panel to it I should have a good power supply when off grid car camping.
