I like this clock so much! It has a simple, elegant design. It's very quiet. We even placed it in a guest room, something I'd never have done if it had audible ticking. I do want to mention that the temperature gauge is in Celsius. I live in America where we use Fareinheight, but it's no problem to me that this uses Celsius instead. If it matters to you, then you may want to pass on buying this. But if you are like me and you don't mind, then I urge you to buy this clock. It's well made, beautiful, reliable, and a great value for the money.

I live in south-central Texas where summers are long and temperatures are very high; humidity gets up to 60% to 80% where the only areas with higher temps are deserts and tropical regions and higher humidity is closer to the far South-East closer to the Gulf of Mexico like South Florida. I was needing to replace a wall clock in the hallway because it seems to never last more than a week on a single battery. This clock shows the time, as long as you can read an analog clock along with humidity and temperature. All of these features are all operated on one AA battery and supposed to last a year. If the humidity and temperature dials are not battery operated then this is possible. The clock is lightweight, about the same size of a clock that I am replacing, though the old clock is 10" at the wall but tapers in to a smaller clock face. This is an actual 10" clock. This clock can not be used in areas where it can get wet so not able to place this outside. I would be afraid of having this clock inside the garage because of the summer heat. That being said, the temperature and humidity is foolish to have on this clock as it would read the inside temperature and humidity inside the home. If your home has adequate insulation, this would easily be defeated. If the material was a lot more capable of being used outside and had more protection on the motor section and battery for weather conditions, this would be better. This was another reason I originally ordered this clock, to be placed in the garage or where it could be read without going outside. It would be nice to see the temperature and humidity to know if there is a need for a jacket to keep warm, an umbrella or other items. With this not being ideal for outside, that idea was defeated and the backup plan to replace a clock that does not function anymore. Many Americans feel that this clock should have Fahrenheit being it is sold in North America but forget the United States is the only country that still used Imperial measurements that is not as precise as the metric system and many industries are moving towards the Metric and more precise measurement system. That being said, I use both and my wife understands the metric better. I am moving more towards the more precise metric measurements so the Celsius is great to have. Instructions are on the back of the box but nothing indicates as to the reason why there is an adjustment knob for both the temperature and humidity. This is confusing when the instructions clearly state that there is no need to set these or anything. With all this being said, it is a nice and simple looking clock. I do not rely on the temperature or hydrometer as they only will indicate the home temp and humidity. The humidity based on the hydrometer is possible to be considered for knowing if I need to dehumidify the home or to use a humidifier. This can be helpful for people like me with asthma and also can help me wife understand how the humidity may be affecting her. Especially when we are dryer than her tropical home country. I will update after more time to see how this clock handles a South-Central Texas winter and the hot summer. I will also update because most AA batteries now seem to be "high duty" and the instructions say do not use these. I have to find AA batteries that do not say high duty now.

The clock came well protected and was easy to set and get going. I wanted a clock that I could see from my couch, and this clock delivers. I also wanted a silent clock because my old clock bothered the heck out of me and again, the clock delivers. I didn't pay much attention to the info when I ordered, I just like the clock design and thought thermometer/hygrometer would be a nice bonus. Temperature is indicated in degrees Celsius. I don't mind because I am a European living in the US and I prefer Celsius, but most people don't. The readings seemed a bit high to me (AC says 74F, this clock says 24C which is 75F), but it is not off much compared to a little thermometer/hygrometer I have. Since my main need was a clock, I can live with a degree off, if it is off (when you have two devices that don't agree, which one is really off? I don't know). All in all, as a clock it absolutely gives me what I needed, it looks simple and clean. The big (clock) numbers are not printed on but engraved in the wood. There is no cover, as another review mentioned, the hands are exposed, but this is shown in the pictures, so that shouldn't be a surprise. It works well for me, so 5 stars. If you need temperature in Fahrenheit, or need an enclosed clock, keep looking.

The good: this is a beautiful clock. Appearances wise, even with the Celcius detail for us Americans, this is a gorgeous, modern, streamlined presentation. The bad: the battery was difficult to install, it takes a single AA battery (just like the old clock that this one was supposed to replace). The compartment was tight and it may take a few moments of jimmying to insert. I waited five minutes after setting up the clock in a location where I had a clock hung before and the time did not advance, it remained at the time I set it up at. The mechanism in the back *is* spinning but the hands are not advancing. I know this because I took it down. I re-set the time and waited another 5 minutes to check on it. The hand remained at the time I set it up for this second time around. 1*. Very disappointed.
