Im an hvac contractor, I typically install higher end minisplits. That being said, I needed a cheap one to semi condition a storage container used to store my house as I move. This one was just as easy to install as a diakin or Mitsubishi. That fact that its a 115v means I can just plug it in. Not completely diy friendly as you will need to evacuate the refrigerant lines. But as long as you have a basic knowledge of electricity, and a basic mechanical knowledge you can install this. Dont forget to get some kind of oil for the flare fittings like wd40 or vacuum pump oil. Also it has a 5/16" service port so you will need an adapter just like diakin units. Only comes set up for 10' of line so unless you have your own refrigerant lines and cable, your basically only able to install it if the condenser is directly opposite side of the wall. This particular 12kbtu unit uses 1/4"x3/8" refrigerant lines and 14-4 thhn cable if you need the sizes. Ill try and post pictures, just keep in mind although im a professional, this is a temporary set up so I didnt use line hide or anything and its on block.

I purchased this for my wife’s She Shed in Southern Tennessee. I also purchased a vacuum pump that was rated for R32. Install was fairly easy as there is a very good video on U Tube for this exact Mountman unit. Mounted and wired it up, used vacuum pump as shown and then released the Freon. Unit more than cools her 15 by 15 foot shed. Going to order another one for my shed. Very happy with my purchase.

I've had Expensive Mitsubishi's in my previous house, after 5 years one head unit was spitting water like crazy, the original (expensive hvac company said to replace the whole thing) and I decided never again. This review is both of the units and the seller. Seller: First I ordered the 18,000 BTU unit thinking I'll have just the one, it was here in 2 days. Massive thing, and I realized I cannot even pick the condenser up and I really shouldn't do 240V as I'm rural. Then I noticed they have the 115V units and I lucked out and caught them at a Great discount so for $200 more that week, I was able to buy two 12,000 BTU 115V units. Sharp. The seller was very accommodating in the return as I had to write support to get two labels - they promptly applied my refund once Fedex picked up the boxes. They send the condensor and lines in one box, and the head unit in the 2nd box. Again, the two units arrived within 2 days. Next I went on facebook marketplace and noticed there was a local guy who has worked HVAC all his career and now went on his own, and is running a $700 per unit install (install alone) this spring. He came out for a quote and he gave me a precise list of extra things to buy like electric line whips, rubber pads for the condensor to sit on, longer line sets due to where I wanted one installed etc. I got all that from Amazon for about $550, and they installed it yesterday and today. Just in time for next week's 90F. They did a great job and by 2pm I had an icy ice cool house. We installed one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. The smaller the room, the quicker and colder the air. My room is like a fridge now at 61F. The living room / kitchen area is about 550sqft so that takes a bit longer, having the bedroom unit helps as the cold air circulates out of the room also into the hallway. Overall, my old central air thermostat sits on the far end of the hallway from the living room unit, and it showed a 4F temperature drop within 30 minutes. I'm super pleased. Two large companies quoted me $20,000 for the same job insisting to use Mitsubishis. No thanks. For what I paid, I can fully replace them if they go bad without feeling like I need to remortgage my house. The hvac guys says these units came with soft start so they won't spike the electricity to heaven each time it starts up, and with the convenient timer, that won't be an issue. Thank you Mountman for selling great hardworking units at super affordable prices! Now I can take on summer in this hellish hot climate. Its mid 80s outside, and the entire house is a very lovely 68F effortlessly all day at eco setting. EDIT 11 may 2026 - Its 91F outside. The both AC's were set to 68F, thermostat on the far end of the house shows 66F and a fan in a door in the hallway shows 62F. I put it up to 70F now because it was too cold inside. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE and have professionals install it.

Only received a 10 foot non charged line set, didn’t see that when ordering? Now I have to go buy something that will make it down the wall . It would’ve been so much easier to know that beforehand ,instead of having to go out and buy the parts now. Maybe need to put that in bold writing that you’ll know what you’re getting cause many of them do come with charge line sets!

Installed in my 29 foot camper, roughly 200 square feet of space. I live in southeast Texas. It's 91 degrees outside while I installed it. Its now a comfy 71 degrees in here and steadily dropping as of 2 hours having it on. I might actually freeze half to death tonight. Installation is not easy! Get a pro to ensure it goes smoothly! Overall, GREAT product!
