I purchased the Mountman Mini Split to replace the unit in my shop that stopped working after five years. My previous system was a DIY model with pre-charged lines, which seemed like the most affordable option at the time because I wasn’t comfortable with vacuuming the lines on a non-DIY setup. This time, instead of spending $1,400 on another DIY system, I chose this more affordable option and bought a vacuum pump after watching a few YouTube tutorials. I’m so glad I did! The installation was straightforward, and by doing it myself, I saved about $800. If you’re considering this route, I definitely recommend doing some research—it’s easier than you might think. I will note that the first unit I received didn’t power on after installation. I contacted the seller’s customer support, and they were excellent. They walked me through a few troubleshooting steps to confirm the unit was faulty, then promptly sent me a replacement without requiring me to ship the defective one back—a huge relief. I really appreciate that level of customer service. As for performance, I couldn’t be happier. This unit is extremely quiet—so quiet that I can barely hear the outdoor component, even though it’s mounted on the wall right outside my shop. My old unit used to vibrate the wall slightly, but this one runs whisper-smooth. Overall, great product, great value, and outstanding customer service. Highly recommend!
