This pergola is pretty good for a 130 pound box of parts delivered to my door. The parts and pieces are sturdy enough for their intended purpose. We are in the process of decorating and landscaping our backyard and this is an affordable way to add another luxury element. It is somewhat tedious to assemble. It can be done without too much trouble with 2 people, 3 people would be very much easier, and 4 people would be a breeze. At least 1 ladder and a step ladder should be implemented. The paint is easy to scuff, so take care when laying out and aligning parts. Make sure that the four corners are square and all four elevations are as close to equal as possible. This will make the pergola look its best and ease in installation. I pre assembled the four sides of the roof to help find the corners in order to mark out exactly where the corner posts would sit. This made it easier to find elevations and level the ground. I did not like the ratio of bolt head to opening on some of the connection points so I used some washers in those areas. The decorative escutcheons do not fully cover the bolt heads as they were meant to. All decorative pieces are made of plastic, while the rest of the structure is made of fairly sturdy steel. *Discoloration from the sun will occur more quickly in the plastic, causing a mismatch of color over time. The connections in the middle of the roof slats were difficult for me to bolt to where they were perfectly aligned. I know it sounds like I just laid down a lot of negatives but it looks pretty good and didn’t cost an arm and a leg, so I like it. Luxury item on a budget.

This is perfect for shade when outside in your patio or wherever you need shade. Easy to setup and provides ample shade. Instructions were easy to follow and it's very study and durable. I have it over some patio furniture and it's great. Not too heavy but have enough to carry if needed and to be stable.

I put this together and when I stood the legs up I noticed that the top portion of the legs are crooked. When together you can tell that the predrilled holes in the pieces that attach aren’t straight. So when you screw the base and leg to the fixture you have to bend it in place to get a straight line look. Took two people 4 hours to put together and try to place where it would look the most straight and be the most stable. Overall, I like it and do recommend but know that it will take time to put together and you will need help to do so. This one came with many dents and a broken decorative piece even though it was packed very well.

The size and price attracted me to this pergola. But, there were several parts that had dents/dings and one post that was scratched up a lot. But, I was not about to try and ship this giant box back to Amazon. I will touch up with some primer to keep it from rusting - I am sure it will where it was scratched (see photos). A lot of construction can be done with just one or two people - but you really need 3 or 4 when standing the thing up and attaching the cross members across the top to it. Another issue I had was the cover. It had been bent over while in the box and is not as stretched out as flat as it should be. I'm hoping time draped over the pergola with some rain and sun exposure will get it to flatten out. Overall, it assembled pretty easily (using my own tools, not the tiny one they include), but I just don't think it'll stand up to more than a few years here in the PNW. UPDATE! After getting some rest and trying again with a total of 3 people (4 at one time), we were able to get it assembled and in use. We bolted it to a concrete patio for stability. It looks pretty good - I hope it lasts though some PNW winters. (2 new pictures uploaded as well)

Definitely need some help putting together! But with the help, you’ll have it put together in maybe an hour or so. Looks really nice and sturdy. Love the adjustable shade screen. Easy to adjust it. Overall really happy with this.
