I bought this to have a ladder to carry in my RV. I ended up also using it to paint the 16 foot high walls and ceiling over the stairway to my second floor. Previously I had to muscle a 12 foot ladder into my house continually re-adjust it to paint the area. This ladder allowed me to easily move the ladder and to use it at different heights. It was fantastic not to waste so much energy having to re-adjust and re-adjust, and in the meantime damaging the walls I had just painted. (I taped some old socks on the ends to help prevent the damage.) On the RV, I am able to easily carry this around, set it up, and climb onto the roof. I will note that there is some slight wiggle at full extension. (I am 235 pounds.) Also, it is VERY important how you recollapse the ladder so you do NOT PINCH OR DAMAGE your hands or fingers. I collapsed it from the top rungs, one at a time, with my hands and fingers clear of the rungs. The weight of the ladder helps collapse it. I was glad I spent the money for this ladder. Update: without any known damage to the ladder, one of the closing "buttons" has broken off. I am able to stick a three inch prod of some kind into the hole to push the mechanism and close the ladder, But the fact is that these buttons must be delicate. ... show more

The ladder arrived in great shape and works very well but in my case, the tool tray was manufactured incorrectly and was unusable. I contacted Amazon about the problem through many discussions and haggling with customer service. They finally put me in contact with the manufacturer through messaging and an error in communications I finally got a response. The manufacturer came through with a correctly made tool tray. I want to thank Amazon for their patience and the information that made this happen. Also a huge thanks to the manufacturer for correcting the problem which I thought would be ignored but was not. It is always nice to see both parties step up and correct a wrong for the customer. Kudos to both parties I'm happy I pursued the problem. Again Thanks ... show more

I should have purchased this years ago. It's a little heavy but that means its very sturdy, made of thicker aluminum than most brands. It has buttons withn the steps on each stop so you can't crush your hand when it slides back down,. It was even sturdy at the top length (12 ft) and needs only a slight angle to maintain a vertical climb safely. Priced right, I highly recommend this ladder. Keep in mind you must lean it against a solid support, its not an A frame, or self standing ladder. Once it slides back into the bottom outer structure, you can store it easily in a very small space, since its only 5 or 6 inches deep, but about 2 ft high, and 2 ft wide. ... show more

There was one review on here that said the A frame ladder was difficult to operate. My suggestion is to not go with the A frame if you don’t need to. The standard collapsible version I ordered has no issues at all. It locks into place at all heights which makes it super easy to adjust into smaller spaces. It’s super lightweight and intuitive. There are no parts you need to connect because the ladder comes fully assembled and ready to use. I’ll never buy a standard ladder again. I use this for my RV and it’s saved me so much space and headache. I’m 200 lbs and this ladder was sturdy. ... show more

It is not easy or intuitive to use, and it isn't ideal if you have to use it every day. (For every day use I would recommend Werner or Little Giant) But it is useful as an inexpensive fold away ladder. It's hardly 3' tall when folded but quite heavy and awkward to carry. You have to strap the rungs so they don't come open when moving it. It is constructed well enough that it doesnt seem weak or fragile. Very good ladder to reach top of RV for leak repair. My 250 pound son stood on ladder steps to patch roof. No instability problems. Big feet in firm grass. 10.5 would have reached but I think the extra length made it sturdier. We didn't open the top 2 sections...collasped/closed and strapped closed it is a neat 35 pound bundle 20 x 33 inches 3 inches thick.. ... show more

Have just used this twice for gutter work, and it seems stable and strong. That was my big concern on buying a ladder like this. But overall it does seem stable. The rungs on the ladder are a bit thin, maybe an inch and a half, so you have to be careful there. What I like most is how portable this ladder is, and how easy it is to store away. ... show more
