Bought this for some small welding on my random projects. For the price it’s great! It’s light weight, simple to use, and works well. I really like how it’s all contained in an easy to maneuver gun style & can be stored with my other power tools on a shelf in the garage. It’s great for just getting metal to stick together if you don’t know much about welding. I will say that the mask / glasses aren’t really worth using past the first few times. I’m gona get a cheap proper mask soon. They work fine but I can’t complain for the total price Gloves are nice n soft. Would recommend

I've been really, really curious about this style of portable welder for a long time. I've got other arc, MIG, and TIG welders thay are portable, but this particular style has always fascinated me. Overall it's been pretty nice so far. It's very basic and easy to use, which makes it good for beginners that might be intimidated by something more complicated. It is effective, but understandably it's not going to have the performance of a higher-end unit for more professional looking and lasting welds. It's a great tool for doing a lot of tac welds or spot welds, and it woukd be adequate for short welds in low penetration projects. If you're counting on this to lay down perfect looking, certified welds then you might be disappointed. Experience and practice will go a long way towards getting a better looking bead, but even then I'm not sure anyone can ever accuse you of "stacking dimes" with this particular product. It's a great option to have in your arsenal, but in my opinion it's not a standalone unit you'd want for all your projects if you constantly need to be welding. My biggest concern is the ruggedness of the product. Initially it seems pretty good, but I have my doubts about the longevity of this product it it's used frequently for long periods of time (true for any lower cost welder). Time will tell the tale I guess. It's not a lot of money, so it's not a huge expense if someone wants to experiment with it, but for not a whole lot more there are combination arc/MIG/TIG welders out there. This is very portable though and if you can hold a drill or impact wrench then this pretty much the same concept, but of course with the addition of the arc welding component. It comes in a nice case, with gloves, electrodes, and everything else to start you on your journey, so I will give a lot of credit to them for that aspect.
