This product worked awesome but I had to do a modification to make it fit my harbor freight 10x18 lathe. The shaft is the correct diameter, but It comes with a oversized barrel on the shaft that had it too high for center. Grounded down to the same size and it works awesome.

Perfect for my Harbor Freight Mimi Lathe
This was ordered for my HF Mini lathe because the one that comes with the lathe is pretty small/short. I was surprised at the quality... It had a nice size polished curve for a finger rest, and is quite comfortable when using it, not rough like the HF tool rest. The actual rest is about 1/4" diameter where the gouges/chisels contact the tool rest. The tool post is 5/8" and allows plenty of range from high to low. Smoother top than my old one.
I acquired a second hand midi lathe a year ago and there were some rough spots on the tool rests that came with it, so I ordered this one and now my tools glide across the surface giving me smoother cuts.

It’s definitely an upgrade from a 4 inch rest!
Had been using a 4 inch to work on longer projects and was tired of the constantly moving the banjo to work my way across anything over 6 inches. It definitely comes in handy to have a short rest and a long rest to switch in and out. This rest is listed as cast iron but it has yet to show signs of dings in it from use in other words it’s hard and allows smooth gliding of your tools. ... show more
