Great for the price, but instructions are lacking. One person install time was about 4hrs at an easy pace. I had to take extra time reading the instructions because of the poor text quality and questionable diagrams. However, I’m not sure if I was lucky or not, but I was able to put it together without needing to take anything apart. I do recommend putting the pieces under shade because they get hot very easily in the sun. The one modification I made was to install one of the two shade roller clips to each side to allow us to be able to leave the shade half open on either side. Because of this, I didn’t use the bolt lockout for the shade. For the price, this is a great deal even if it only lasts for a few years. I plan to take the shade down and store it at the end of season. I also am looking into a cover for the shade to prevent fading.

Extreme buyer beware on this. We are firmly in "you get what you pay for territory" and even going in with that perspective, you need to consider what you're getting into with this. There is a reason this is significantly cheaper than virtually any other similar product on the market - and while the perspective of "I only need it for a year or two, might as well go as cheap as possible" makes sense, you may still want to get something a bit nicer than this. Even judging this thing for what it is, the instructions and build process are so terrible it'll make you wish you bought something at twice the price. It is with no exaggeration when I say this is the worst set of instructions I've ever seen, to the point of doing more harm than good. You have: 1) Multiple, different, parts labeled with the same label. 2) Parts that are not as pictured as what is labeled. 3) An assumption that you do everything it tells you twice, without ever telling you that. Except for when you don't have to do it twice! That's for you to find out! 4) Virtually no written instruction, and what is there is confusing. 5) Diagrams that perhaps ask more question than they answer. You will eventually get the idea of what is going on here and be able to intuit what to do - but you'll assemble some things backwards, guess at the next step, disassemble and reassemble a few times. Also, invest in a hex bit for a drill - an impact with destroy this thing - but you do not want to be stuck hand tightening all of these. My first review focused on how the first product I got did not come with all the included parts - namely, ALL of the fasteners were missing. This has been rectified (Amazon sent me an entire second kit! Very cool! Now I have twice the junk) but I feel like it is worth mentioning. Once you DO finish building it - you have exactly what you paid for - the cheapest aluminum pergola of it's kind. I cannot imagine this thing lasting more than 2-3 years in a temperate climate, let alone a humid one. But maybe that's what you need. Honestly, I'd just get a tent if I could do it again.

The item was okay for my backyard. There was a piece missing so we had to contact the company . We purchased this in July and as of now we haven't received it. The instructions were written pretty bad. It took us 2days to put together because of the instructions. Omg!!

I debated between three and four stars, but I am happy with the purchase so I went with four. That said, there were some issues. This is NOT an easy build. There are 375 pieces. It took me a half hour to account for all the pieces and sort them out. It took my spouse and I at least twelve hours over four days - yes - four days, working on and off in the sun, up and down on the ladder, assembling - unassembling - reassembling.... It doesn't come with great instructions, just a pamphlet with diagrams. It tells you which pieces (which are marked with part number stickers) to put together, but not HOW (in which direction or orientation) to assemble them. You find out later when the next piece has it's holes on the wrong side... Frustrating. We are handy and assemble lots of stuff. This was not an easy assembly. No connections were difficult but it seemed to take forever. At one point I was just overwhelmed. It did NOT arrive undamaged - it was very well packaged but one rail was crushed at one end. I was able to pull it back into shape with pliers, and now you would not notice it if I didn't point it out. So I'm okay with that. By the end, we had parts left over that were not "extra" - they were different, and they were pictured in the phamplet, but we couldn't figure out where they went. The top canopy may be waterproof, but would be hard to enjoy on rainy days because it drapes down a little between support rails, and in each valley there are rivets with decent-sized holes that allow rain water to pour through so that the canopy doesn't fill up with water and either collapse or tear from the weight. It's a good design, but the drain holes are about every three feet in every direction - so, I guess you could center your chair between them, but they are drooling water like tiny faucets during rain. We sat out after overnight rain, and every time the wind gusted a little, another half-cup of water that was puddled in the valleys of the canape would blow over and down from a drain hole. It was hilarious. Like one of those fun spots at Epcot, where the water squirts up from the pavement at random and the kids squeal in delight. Conclusion: This is a quality gazebo. It looks great. It's sturdy. We love it! I may not have gotten it if I knew how much work it would be to put it together, so beware of that aspect, but we are very glad we got it.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this pergola has been one of the worst purchases I’ve ever made. The instructions are absolutely useless — unclear, poorly labeled, and missing critical details. What should have been a straightforward assembly turned into a 3-day nightmare involving four adults trying to figure things out through pure trial and error. For context, I’ve been a homeowner for over 10 years and have assembled countless pieces of furniture, outdoor sets, and even other gazebos/pergolas before. This was not a case of inexperience. The problem is the product itself. The material quality is extremely poor, parts don’t align properly, and the entire structure feels cheaply made. At multiple points we seriously considered dragging it to the curb for bulk pickup because of how frustrating the experience was. The only reason we kept going was because we had already invested so much time into it and summer is basically here. If you’re considering purchasing this pergola, be prepared for a very time-consuming and frustrating assembly process with low-quality materials and terrible instructions. I would not recommend it.

After only a couple of months of use, the fabric is bulging in the center which leads to rain water pooling instead of draining. We are in a dry area, so there hasn’t been much rain- just a little has rendered the fabric unsightly and useless, which defeats the entire purpose of this item. The sun has also rapidly changed the color of the fabric. It’s not too difficult to assemble (although the directions aren’t great), and looks nice initially- but it shouldn’t be expected to last. Find something else if you’re wanting to get more than one season of use.

Love it! Came complete. It was a bit hard to install. But, not impossible. Just be patient. Some of the missing part are inside the legs. Me and my family love it. We use it almost every day.
