I set the Pergola on cement footings. Crucial to this is that the four corners were level in the same plane and that the base was a perfect rectangle. This was expected and required for the components to fit properly. However, in the end the two angled, polycarbon, roof panels at the 10 foot end had to be cut to get the stop bar in place. This is my only disappointment and slightly loser tolerances would have made this easier. Getting everything put together without fully tightening the bolts until the end helps. This allows for a degree of play to get everything fitted. We two (70,80). We are very delighted with the the final product, with its accurate machining and durable parts. We particularly like the roof allowing light through as well as its design. The netting is straight forward giving a sense of privacy, too. Before the installation of the roof, 4 spray cans of colored paint was enough to bring the structure to our color preference. The instruction manual and marking of the components as well as the materials were excellent. ... show more
