Picked up this WTTOGTEC 10G SFP+ to RJ-45 Transceiver to use with my new Unifi Dream Router 7 (UDR7). Popped it in the SFP+ port on the UDR7 and it's working without any issues. Only using it to connect to a 1GB cable modem, but the router figured it out just fine. Best of all, it's less than half the cost of the Ubiquiti-branded transceiver.

I installed this in my Unifi 28-port PoE switch to free up other ports. Everything seemed fine for the first 24 hours, but I soon noticed the switch getting unusually hot. A day later, the switch bricked itself. When I opened it up, I found burned components on the mainboard, likely due to power overload from this cheap module. Trying to save $10 ended up costing me hundreds of dollars in damages.

Delivery was on time but doesn't seem to negotiate correctly. Using this as uplink from UDM SFP+ port to Ubiquiti 2.5G flex. Only registering 1Gbe. So it appears this is only 1gbe or 10Gbe, not 1gb/2.5gb/5gb/10gb

As far as I can tell, these are correctly negotiating 1GbE and seem to pass packets fine at that rate. However, unlike the official Ubiquiti 10Gb SFP+s, these only report a link speed of 10Gb to the switch, so they show up as 10Gb even when only connected to 1GbE on the other end. Probably not a problem... probably.
