This monitor has many great features, but the one that stood out compared to another monitor I have was that it was very easy to install on the wall above the crib. The mounting materials were all included and it was easy to attach the base plate to the wall and then the camera to the base plate. The rest is great too. The monitor itself is very easy to use and the picture quality for both day and night is excellent. I also appreciate that the camera itself can move to view the baby's room. One key note is that to always be able to hear what is going on in the baby's room that you have to also have the screen turned on. There is a feature that it will detect sound levels and then play the audio (along with a loud beeping for 30 seconds) when the level (low, med, high) is reached, but we did not like the beeping. Got this camera to set up in my sons room to keep track of him at night. However, we quickly discovered that there was barely any to no sound coming from the monitor. We removed the camera from his room and set it up in a different room to test the volume level. The only way we could hear anything on the monitor was when we were basically shouting a couple inches from the camera. Even then the sound only came through the monitor as less than a whisper. It was able to alert at various sound levels but we still couldn’t hear anything through the monitor. We contacted customer support and after working with them they told us that they have never encountered this problem before and said that they would report it to the manufacturer. They’ve then offered to give us $10 for our trouble. Customer service was very helpful but $10 in exchange for a defective $100 monitor was insulting and not going to cut it for us so we decided to return the product.     • 1080p upgrade and excellent sound
I specialize in health care reviews and have evaluated several baby monitors. Nothing is more important than a healthy baby you need to keep loving eyes on, especially at night. This updated model from SMONET has what my wife and I consider to be the most crucial features, while leaving out others not needed by most. This monitor requires no internet. HURRAH! The only downside you may encounter is that the range is limited to about 900 feet in most environments. We are noticing zero issues thus far. At the time of this review Amazon offers 30 day free returns just in case the range is too limited for your home environment. Of primarily importance is reliability, along with highly detailed picture and high quality audio. When looking for a monitor, definitely stay with HD, either 720p or the even crisper 1080p as this model has recently been upgraded to. This baby monitor has some other high end features we love such as the ability to tilt up and down and side to side. If you want to keep an eye on a naughty crawling toddler, additional cameras are available as add-ons. The audio features work well, including two-way talk. Another uncommon feature we love is the built in lullaby feature so mom and dad can get some rest, too! I’d have to say that I would 100% recommend this unit to anyone looking for an affordable video monitor that has a crazy good picture. ... show more

I just love this baby monitor, been using ut for a couple of months and i can clearly see my baby while sleep, i love that he can be in his room sleeping and i am in the backyard of the house and im still able to see him, great quality, if he moves or cry and im sleeping the monitor alarm sounds, this is awesome ! I highly recommend this to keep an eye on your baby!!! Very easy to connect , i love that you dont need internet and its safer for ur kid ... show more

Fantastic big monitor. Great Picture quality Absolutely love it, it has big 5.5” display which is HD display. This has turned out to be an excellent purchase and so we were glad that we paid out a bit extra for this to replace our different branded baby monitor which packed in after being used for our previous two kids. It's an attractive looking set overall and both the camera and the monitor are well built. Setting it up was very simple. Simply plug it in and you can use it straight away as the camera is already paired to the monitor. It has a good range of movement - with an almost 360 degree pan and 120 degree tilt. Absolutely worth buying a camera with 1080p or higher.The picture from the camera onto the monitor is nice and clear.The night vision is really amazing. It is clear at night too. It has a decent zoom on it and this doesn't cause the quality to drop at all. The two-way audio is clear to understand. Battery life is good as well at 3600mAh it will go most of the night after initially being charged. It comes with lullabies and temperature monitoring, which are both great to have extras. We've been using smonet baby monitor for 5 months now. We absolutey love all the futures it provides. The ability to shift the cameras view is our favorite part about it. as our LO moves alot in his sleep and being able to view him and the room is Amazing, The size of the monitor is GREAT!! we recently had a little issue with the power button not working, amazon directed us to Smonet customer service. They were quick to reply and the issue was resolved in a timely matter, Riley with customer service was great to work with . I looked at a few baby monitors before I decided on this one. The reason why I picked this one was for the 1080p camera and its local network connection. This doesn't piggy back off your home wifi. The video quality and sound quality is great.
