I have been looking for a soundbar with great sound and design, yet budget conscious price. I can confidently say that BYL soundbar gave me exactly what I needed from ALL perspectives. And because I had to try at least 4 different ones and finally found what I loved, I decided to write a long review. My daughter and her friend helped me with the testing, so I need to recognize their help. First of all, I do not like the ones that are not very long, they look weird under the TV. BYL is 40 inches and it aligns very well with the TV. Its design is also very nice with angular front and with solid legs making the setup very attractive looking. I am attaching pictures for that. Amazon Basics model I tried is just 32 inches and it really looked bad under the TV. And in order to form a reference point, we tested and used BYL soundbar and Amazon basics soundbar to build an informed comparison for overall review and decision. We watched a movie using the Amazon basics soundbar (in movie mode), and we quickly noticed that the voices of male actors were at a frequency lower than what the soundbar could handle, as it was more of an unintelligible buzzing; we strained our ears to decipher what they were saying most of the time, as the higher frequencies in their voices were often overshadowed by the low rumbling. After watching the movie, we connected BYL soundbar, and we tested the same scene described above, and the difference was quite noticeable. Male actor voices were much clearer, and while there were still low frequencies, it was more of a bass effect making it perfectly fine to understand what they are saying. Overall it was a night and day difference. BYL was a clear winner! We proceeded to play the same song on both soundbars ("Car Radio" by twenty-one pilots). The bass of the BYL thundered through the ground and into our feet and it was also better than the Amazon Basics one in terms of bass and clarity of the sounds. We then played a speaker test off of YouTube on each soundbar. With this, the differences were astounding. The BYL soundbar held up as the sound frequency increased from low to high (20 Hz to ~22,000 Hz), and the buildup of frequencies was literally palpable in the air. The Amazon Basics one, however, was more like a constant whine, with scratches and buzzes and rumbles here and there. This test sealed it obviously that BYL is an amazing soundbar. Finally, each soundbar has a remote, which features various commands, such as Bluetooth, volume increase and decrease, and sound settings (movie, news, etc.). The BYL soundbar has more of these sound settings, and it also has options to control the treble and base of the audio directly, whereas the Amazon soundbar does not provide that option. And of course, BYL has the infrared learning. With all those amazing features, sound quality and beautiful design, BYL is arguably the best soundbar to get. Strongly recommended! ... show more

After several years of listening to the TV through its internal speakers I decided to get a soundbar to improve the audio. After looking at several soundbars I chose this one because at its price range it offered 100 watts compared to 60 or 80 watts by others in this price range and due to the positive reviews it had received. This sound bar made a huge difference in our tv audio. The voices are clear and the sound is really thumping. Its adds new life to our favorite shows. We also listen to a lot of music on youtube and streaming through our phones. It really brings the music to life. We listen to classical music and rock. To test it out I cranked up my Beatles playlist from my phone and let me tell you the fab four sounded fabulous! I agree with the other reviewers this is an excellent sound bar. I mounted the Bar on my wall, drilling, tapping, ect. Then I pulled out the wires to get it all setup. Upon seeing the tiny power supply my heart sank. There is no way that tiny supply can output enough amps to power a advertised 100w system. Not all buyers will know this but you can easily google it. Volts x Amps = Watts. It's a very simple calculation. You also have to account for powering the controller, amplifier, Bluetooth module ect... everything else in the speaker bar. Plus allot of power will be lost to various things such as heat, induction ect.. The max output of this "100w" sound bar is 35.91 amps. That's MAX!!! Meaning everything powered THEN what is left over can be used to power the speakers. This doesn't take into account how much power the amp inside the soundbar is able to supply and that's an unknown since I didn't take it apart. I drilled into my wall, might as well test it. From my amp meter I measured (at the plug) a max of 19.5 watts at max volume. So sound bar is not 100watts it probably about 10-15max.. 10 watts is not bad. Common misconception actually. 10-15 watts is perfect for small- medium sized rooms. NOT the large room I purchased this for. I thought 100 watts was over kill for this big room. I also assumed what I purchased would be capable of 100 watts. Returning and forwarding my findings to BBB. WHY LIE!!!! If you advertised it for what it is, then it would be fine. It's not a bad product. But in the end it's a good products falsely advertised with a jacked price simply to scam the end user.. ... show more

The item was shipped quick and was nicely packaged, protected. I received this as a gift. I did not know I needed this! :) I loved it. It made a big difference in the sound quality of movies and music we listen. It looks good too. I hid the optical cable behind the TV. If your TV supports Bluetooth, you can be wireless too. I tried the Bluetooth feature using my phone. It paired fast. You switch to Bluetooth input, using the remote (or the source switch button on the right), and pair your phone to S9920. I can not say I am an audiophile, but in my humble opinion, the sound quality was excellent via the Bluetooth as well. It looks and feels sturdy, and I will for sure update my review if it goes bad after usage. Only thing I did not test is the learning remote feature, which helps you control this with TV/Cable remote. It is a nice idea, so I can have on-screen feedback about the volume level. I plan to test it when we find our TV remote. Currently, I control my TV using my phone app. By the way, TCL's Roku TV's are also great! ... show more
