Don't listen to 1 star reviews. These are people that clearly don't read the instructions or user manual. The key is for locking the batter in place only and so you can remove the battery to charge indoors or for security. I did a lot of research for value versus money. This bike has it all and it has a 3" fat tire which as far as stability goes makes a night and day difference. The bike performs very well and is a lot of fun, assembly was very easy as 95% of it is already assembled. The packaging was very good. One thing I noticed after I already broke the box down was that the box says right in it to save for 30 days. Im guessing its in the event you have to ship it back to the manufacturer. The only thing I can really figure out is the cruise control, not sure which button to push for cruise control. Other than that I like how you are able to get into the settings to adjust features **read the owner's manual** I haven't put it through a range test, but I will update once I go full electric to see how far it will go compared to what the manufacturer claims. If this bike does even 25 miles on all electric I consider that a win, manufacturer states 50+ miles on all electric. If you are looking for a fun electric bike that won't break the bank, look no further. This is the best value versus performance I could find. We shall see how it holds up over time. ... show more

This bicycle came well packaged to protect it from shipping damage. It was difficult to get the box open, but once we got in, the bike was well secured within. It was very easy to put together as the instructions in the booklet were clear and much of the bicycle was already assembled. It’s a little taller than I expected, but I put the seat at the lowest setting and that makes it easier to touch the ground. This bike “jump starts” if you are in anything but the pedal only mode. It took a few minutes to get used to it. At the highest setting, this bike was going 33.8 mph! Overall, this is a great bike. I hope it lasts. ... show more

Love this introductory e-bike. I will say though, that as a 5’3” woman, this bike is NOT lightweight and it is quite difficult to fold in half and unfold. I was hoping it would be great to fold and throw in my car and take places, but that sadly is not going to be an option for me. Both times I tied, I hurt myself and got tire burns on my arms. Upon the second time trying, it got stuck folded in half and the frame got all scratched up which is really disappointing since I haven’t even had it a week. Additionally, I feel like I received the wrong instruction manual and it wasn’t very helpful. It doesn’t really explain how to use the screen or how to switch between the 3 modes. Also, in the pictures on Amazon, it appears that the bike is supposed to have directional indicators and I cannot figure out how to work those. Other than that, I love it. This is my first ebike, and I love it! It has a color LCD screen, it is easy to fold (the pedals fold also, making it more compact), and the breaks work really well. It takes off fast when on pedal assist, so that takes getting used to. The bike is a little heavy and the seat could be softer. Box came beat up from shipping. The bike and parts were not damaged and had a lot of foam to protect everything from scratches. It was easy to assemble. Some of the bike was already assembled. Recommend using your own hex wrench for assembly. The bike feels very strong and well made.
