There aren't any instructions included but they are available on the Amazon product page. The plastic pots are very durable and made with a thicker material than any other hydroponic grow baskets that I have. I was not familiar with the growing medium; it feels like the green foam I would use to make a flower arrangement with fake flowers. According to the instructions for use, it needs to be soaked and then a seed inserted in the hole (same as other hydroponic growing medium). I have some seed planted, I just need to wait for them to sprout. The price is competitive with similar hydroponic products. ... show more

    • Great starter kit
I love this kit - everything you need (except food, light, water, seeds.... etc...) But you do get a large collection of pots and rockwool. The pots are about 2" across, pretty standard from what I've read. The rockwool is quite delicate, perhaps not the best quality because is a bit too delicate to handle. I ordered this for a DIY project I have going on. I am using the pots and cubes for a hydroponic garden. The baskets are actually better than I had expected. The plastic is nice and thick! The little cubes of growing medium work like other hydroponic growing medium. Soak. Add seed to the bottom of the cube and place in water.
