If properly installed, these shades effectively block out heat and sunlight. I transformed our loft into a cooler master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, a common hot spot in the house. Living in Arizona, we understand the intense summer heat, and these shades have significantly reduced the temperature in our room by 75%. I highly recommend purchasing these if you are facing similar issues. However, be prepared to get creative with the installation process. I used the included staples and crazy glue as the adhesive provided couldn't withstand the heat. The seller provides excellent customer service and prioritizes customer satisfaction. Kept the room very dark and it was easy to install and use, but I installed it on a south-facing window and the velcro pads would detach from the window because of the heat. I think the adhesive would melt and that would cause the pad on the window would detach and stay attached to the velcro on the shade. Make sure you measure the window and the shade perfectly to make sure you cut it to the correct size! This would probably be better for a temporary solution or a window that doesn't get quite as much sun as mine.

Update!!! I'm not removing my first review just updating after a few weeks of use. I'd say the material is nice and it does black out the window. It keeps some heat out of the house but the area around the window is still quite warm! Does it reflect heat I'm not really feeling as though it does. I feel like I could put an emergency blanket up there for better heat reflection than this. Not to mention they sent a stapler to staple the velcro on the corners BUT this doesn't work... it's not just the velcro that sticks to the material it's also the one that sticks to the frame of the window. The corners fall all the time.... the velcro is worthless and i am going to have to improvise with some command straps. I don't want to use the non removable white sticky dots sent because I don't want to have to go through the pain to scrape them off. I'm taking 2 stars off my original 5 star review for quality and in ability to keep heat out. All in all I kinda feel like I wasted money. Ok hear me out, I live in sothern California further east away from the beach... it gets HOT here in the summer and our AC can't hack it. I tinted my bedroom window and my sliding glass door because those don't recieve direct sun all day long. My dining room and living room windows are on the same wall where they both get blasted by the sun. I haven't seen how well it keeps the heat out just yet but I can say it's easy to install!! I may make a modification by sewing the velcro pads on to the fabric as yes they don't stick well to it when trying to remove the fabric from the window during the evening time. I may also eventually change the velcro altogether with long thin strips rather than the dots so it's a consistent strip. All in all I'm happy.

I love it. The sun hits my big bedroom window. And I've tried everything. Window tenting, as soon as the sun would come out so would my window covering. I've tried so many different solutions and I don't want the heavy curtains back but my shutters only do so much 😢 This was my LAST option before I re hang my blackout curtains. I read every single review and paid the most attention to the ones that talked about sun 😆 I read more reviews than about the product itself and the ones that talked about the inhensive not strong enough and the fall off is what I prepared myself for. I mean this was cheaper than the other stuff I got, I honestly didn't have much hope cause the sun loves me and my ac bill is HIGH because of it. I'm not good at stuff like this, I was shocked to find out how much they gave, like I said I was more into the reviews. The other stuff I got barely wanted to cover my window. This did the entire window and another and still got some left 😃 The inhesive seems to be real strong but Luke I said the sun reviews all complained about it falling off when the sun came out, so I got grilla tape too and went to work measuring and cutting and listening to each review. AND IT WORK LIKE A CHARM. This is total blackout, I guess I love the sun too cause I left a little piece off so a little sun can come in and didn't do my other window that's across the room. If I did I would be using light switches to see. I was able to also do my loft with the same mentality of my room. I'm getting more for the kiddos rooms. I absolutely appreciate this and the reviews nothing worked but this. Thank you all.

Blackout: 100% Installation: Cut to size to the outer frame. Make sure to leave a 1 inch overhang on each of the four sides to be able to place the little sticky pads onto the frame and the panel. The sticky pads don't work very well unless you use many per panel for which there is not enough of them. I know they are designed to be able to remove the blackout panels whenever you want but I ended up using double stick tape to hold them up. Blackout shheets: they are very thin so I would not suggest cutting holes in them to insert curtain rings as the material will likely rip. Overall a good deal.
