I bought supposed black out curtains from a dept store that stated they were blackout. After hanging them, they were so sheer i could see people on the other side of the window. I LOVE this. I have odd windows in my bedroom and get up at 4 am for work and in the summer it's light till 9:30 pm. Not only are my windows odd shape, I also have a window air conditioner. This came in big sheets. After I laid it all out and measured the window I cut out the pieces I need to fit around the air-conditioning and the odd shaped window. They supply a stapler for you and velcro. The stapler is to staple the velcro to the curtain. So smart as the sticky velcro did not work on cloth. The reason I choose to try this item, is because of the test in the video. They turned on the flashlight on their phone and we all know thats pretty bright and saw nothing so I gave it a try and am so happy I did. My bedroom is pitch dark in the middle of the day. I go to bed at 7 pm and even my dogs come with me, thinking it's night. The window faces south so it gets sun all day and heat and the velcro hasn't budged. Why didn't I do this the first time. These are amazing at blacking out all light. And tge price is amazing. I would give 10 stars if I could.

This works perfect for my bedroom windows in the summer. The sun rises so early in the summer that it’s hard to sleep in, and not be awake by 6 am. I have blinds so I wasn’t sure how to block out the sun. So I used this in white under my blinds directly on the window. Works like a dream! So happy with my purchase. They stay up great and blocks out the light. Look at the difference from one window compared to the other one. Great to use just for the summer when the sun comes up so early.

I’ll start with saying that this is a 5 star product with very minor issues that kept it from earning perfect praise. I am a nightshift worker and these made sleeping during the day much easier. In fact i have issues sleeping to well and to long now! It’s so dark i can't tell the time naturally anymore. The material itself is good quality. Easy to work with but not flimsy either. There is not a glimmer of light that comes from my windows. And i can tell it helps keep a bit of the heat/cold out from the windows as well. I don’t think it can be considered “stylish” or looks good. But if you hide it behind curtains it is fine. Now the only criticism! I don’t feel like the very small velcro circles provided does this product well. Do they work? Yes. Do they work well? Kinda. Light will still slip through if you use these. Instead you can do what i did and buy a inch wide roll of velcro and cut to measure down all sides. Put on side on the edges of the window and the other on the product. I have it so dialed in that you can’t see without a flashlight in there now!

They work so well, I bought the white backed ones. Looks just like a curtain from the outside. Buying more for another room. Someone else had recommended buying a roll of Velcro to get a really tight and complete edge which is what I did, only finished 2/3 of the windows in the room and it’s like nighttime in the middle of the day. I added the little circle velcros to the back so I could flip the curtain half up if I want to open the windows/get light in. I used a box cutter to trim down to size once it was stuck to the Velcro vs precutting the curtain to size once it, got 4 windows worth from the big curtain sheet.

Arrived quickly. Came with clear double stick dots and Velcro dots. As other reviewers have mentioned those options for hanging are pretty worthless. I am guessing why they put in a small stapler as well, but I don’t think I will be using that. In fact as I am typing this review one of the dots has fallen off the window again. I think I have some better quality double stick on hand, but if you plan on purchasing also plan on having a plan to mount your curtain other than the ones provided. It is similar in thickness and weight to a decent heavy duty shower curtain liner. The curtain itself is pretty effective. The size was accurate as described. It blocks out the light very well and the heat does feel significantly less providing a similar effect that I was getting using a reflective bubble wrap type of material before which was more cumbersome to use and store. As other reviewers mentioned there was definitely a very strong odor but I expected that so I hung it up outside overnight to air out and it worked perfectly to eliminate the smell. There are a half dozen or so extremely small pin holes in the material. It is not an issue for me but some might find that to be an issue. I will be purchasing again. I have a plan to simply ise it to line the curtains in the windows in our RV to help with the intense summer sun in our motorhome.

These work great to cover a couple windows in a security guard shack that directly face the afternoon sun. Without them, the temperature rises significantly and you can even get a sun burn on the side that faces the window. With these curtains, that is no longer a problem. The temp is not as high and the brightness is gone. The most difficult part was measuring and cutting but that's still close to a beginner level. The silver side reflects the heat nicely. When the sun goes down, we simply remove them and fold them for the next day.

Must have for every nightshifter, day sleeper. Room is midnight dark now. Have tried other types of blackout, these are best I've found in 20 years of night shift working. Buy bigger than measurements of your light source, to over lap everything. Tape over laps.
