The memory foam material of the base is very soft, but supportive enough. When I lie down, the base will adjust according to the curve of my body. There is no "sinking" feeling at all. The mattress didn't evenly fill in after opening it. There was a 6 inch boarder around the outside edge that didn't rise as high as the middle. That is after 3 days of letting it air out. It's for a guest room and we've had a few guests stay since getting this mattress and all have had good things to say about it's comfort. I am dropping a star just because of it not filling back in properly, but for the price and happy guests I would still recommend this mattress to others.

I absolutely love this mattress. We got it so my daughter had a bigger one but she's still small enough she finds her way into our bed and our youngest still sleeps with us, so I can only contort myself so long. I'll wind up in her bed and with someone that has back pain frequently this bed is fantastic. I'm 308lbs and I don't sink into the mattress, it supports me regardless if I'm on my side, back, or stomach sleeping. Any night I end up on it I wake up pain free the next morning. Now we're considering swapping our king mattress for one.

The thickness is okay for the bed I have. However, the middle seems to be more stiff than the sides, sides sink in. When I lay on either side, my body is leaning down toward the floor with the other half of the body being higher…! I can’t sleep like this.
