I've thrown out so many 25+ dollar torches all for the same reason, broken ignitor. Never again. So glad I thought to check if these were sold here. Pretty sure I've written this review once before, but came to restock and noticed it didn't post, so figured these are to good not to leave positive feedback for, so I'd try once more. I've seen several talking about short leads others saying they had to solder the leads, so I wanted to clear that up by saying, yes the leads are short'ish but so are the ones in practically everything. The seller included a generous length of extra lead wire so extending them is dead simple. Just strip back the insulation on the pigtail on the ignitor about 1/4 of an inch and the same for the extension piece. Then bend a hook into both stripped ends, now hook one onto the other then pinch both closed tightly with a pair of pliers. Then slip over a short length of heat shrink and shrink it to fit. That's it. No need to solder if you don't want to. No need to try to twist them either because unless done just right that will easily come apart, and it's more bulky as a result when compared to my method. Trust me, that spark will absolutely transfer from one to the other just fine even if the connection seems loose. Just make sure to reinsulate it well so the spark doesn't jump out mid way to the body of the lighter instead of the tip where it's meant to. Also wouldn't recommend using electric tape, as it will easily unwrap if it gets hot, and we are working on lighters here so tape is not a good idea. Only thing suitable is heat shrink. Hope this may help any that we're unsure of the best methods to extend the wire. So simple, and I for one will save so much having these around. Can't recommend enough!

I have replaced several lighters that I once considered dead. Scorch, Newport, Whip-It!, and many others. easy to replace with minimal tools. Only thing is, with a full sized newport torch I had to lengthen the wire. for the smaller torches its a perfect size.

I found a very dependable wind proof lighter years ago, and this is one of the only things that wear out after awhile. The wire was plenty long (had to snip off a couple of inches) but my stack of old lighters live again.
