This is a well built, light weight, and comfortable back rest that works perfectly in our little corner two man sauna. Only deducting one star because it is so light it slides beneath any pressure. You sort of have to hold it against the small of your back as you recline, otherwise it slides straight back against the wall. Once you have your weight distributed evenly it stays put, though.

Nice sauna backrest. I have three of these. They're all different but all nice. The other two that I have are somewhat more "finished" with a shellack or poly coating. These are unfinished natural wood. Neither is better (finished or unfinished), so decide what you prefer. This backrest has a gentle curve to it, which I prefer. Some are straight, no curve. I prefer the posture correct curve that this one has. I find it more comfortable. This is also a single piece. Some others are two pieces (for shipping convenience), which you have to screw together. In the end, although the two-piece versions seem plenty stable, a single piece like this is preferable. Nothing to break or loosen. The construction is pretty good. It could use a final sanding, but it's not splintery. The rails are connected by gluing and thin nail gun tacks. Pretty standard, and should hold up forever. The backside shows a little bit of glue overflow, but not much, and it doesn't show on the front, which is the side you will see. Another slight difference between this item and some other sauna backrests is that this one uses small slats to hold your back. Many/most others use dowels. I like both, but the slats are a little bit more comfortable, as they have bigger surface area than dowels on which to lean. They also flex somewhat, which provides for extra comfort, while giving the confidence that they will hold up to body weight, no problem. Overall, a nicely made, comfortable, one piece, natural wood sauna backrest. What you see is what you get, which in this case is a plus.

I often relax in our home sauna, but sitting against the wall used to feel too hot and uncomfortable, so I got this wooden backrest. It turned out lighter than I expected, which makes it easy to move around. The curved shape fits my back nicely and keeps me comfortable even after sitting for a while. The wood is smooth and sturdy, and it stays at a pleasant temperature that doesn’t feel hot to the touch. Now I can sit back and relax without worrying about burning my back. My family likes it too and often takes turns using it. The only thing I noticed was a slight wood smell at first, but it went away after a few uses. It’s a useful and affordable item that makes sauna time much more comfortable.

Unbelievable value in a very lightweight sauna backrest. The backrest has a very gentle curve for those with more flattened lower backs, HLA B27, ankylosing spondylitis or other issues. There is no significant pressure exerted in the lumbar region. I like the flat slats and generally find them more comfortable. It does provide gentle support and distance from the sauna wall. I use in a high heat sauna converted from an infrared sauna. I believe this would definitely work in an infrared sauna that had no lumbar support or curvature. It is also highly portable for those who want to go to the Y or their particular gym to sauna. I had to double check on the price actually listed after I tried it as it seemed low. Hopefully they will have it again in stock again at this price, or even double this price. At the time of acquisition, the price was $9.99. This is such an unbelievable bargain for a quality item

This is pretty straightforward, a wood back rest for leaning against in a sauna. It is constructed nicely, feels sturdy, i added a couple dabs of glue to the bottom to help with stability. The curve on it is really nice, much more comfortable than the wall. I don't know what kind of wood it is, it didn't say anywhere on it at the time I ordered or anywhere on the box, I do not think it was cedar. I'll update if there's anything worth adding. For the price, it's a great value and I deeply regret only getting one before our most recent trip to the cabin. Everyone was fighting over it. Rock paper scissors was the ultimate decider for who got the backrest.

This is a simple and untreated pine backrest. The wood is sanded well, with no splinters or rough areas. There is no treatment to the wood such as a varnish, oil or wax, so if using in a wet sauna or high sweat use, then this may not hold up over time. The build is sturdy, and this is light weight. If one is looking for a value product, then this is perfect.

The media could not be loaded. This wooden backrest is a simple but amazing upgrade for any sauna. It’s lightweight, easy to move around, and makes a big difference in comfort. I can finally lean back and relax without worrying about my back touching the hot wall. The smooth wood stays at a nice temperature and feels sturdy but comfortable. Definitely worth it if you spend any amount of time in the sauna, makes the whole experience much more enjoyable!
