- About The 24*1 Tire: It is designed to be smaller than the size of the wheel hub, but this tire is elastic to match perfectly with the 24-inch wheelchair wheels, allowing the tire to be mounted tightly on the wheel rim without the risk of the tire falling off.
- Multiple Installation Methods: because the size of the tire is slightly smaller than the size of the wheel, so the installation requires a certain amount of force, we can use 1. with the help of external force to use a crowbar to install, 2. if the force is small enough you can soak the tire in hot water for 10 minutes, and then install it according to the method 1, it will greatly reduce the difficulty of installation.

These were a perfect fit for my mother in law’s Carex wheelchair. The wheels measure 23.25 inches and with the tire installed 24 inch’s combined. Installation was easy. Unlike so many reviews I had no issues putting these tires on the wheel. I took the wheels off of the chair. I put the tires in my sink and then poured two big pots of boiling water over the tires. They were rolled up and weighted down to keep them submerged. I let them soak for 30 minutes. They were a tight fit but using the zip ties and installation tool provided it was not difficult at all. I got the tire started in the groove and put one zip tie on tight and then just started massaging the tire into the wheel groove a few inches at a time using my left hand while following up with my right hand tightly holding the tire in place. About half way around I put on a second tie. I kept massaging the tire around until I could no longer get the tire over the rim by hand and then started using the installation tool about every four to six inches pulling the tire up and over the rim and then holding it in place tightly with my right hand. About two thirds the way through I put on a third tie. After that it just took a few more times of prying the tire over the rim and keeping it in place with my right hand and it was on. The first one took maybe five minutes at the longest due to the learning curve and only two minutes for the second one. I used three zip ties per wheel. I doubt that I’ll ever need to replace these tires but if I ever do I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these again.

It fits and works well when installed...BUT...it's not as easy as the video shows...you will work to get it on the wheel, but still worth it when complete. Get more vinyl ties and use 2 long flat bladed screwdrivers.

The replacement tires were for a wheelchair which had cracked and split entirely because of dry rot. The size and quality was as ordered and eventually the wheelchair and newly installed tires were functional after installation was complete. Unfortunately, after following the explicit directions, it was quite impossible to install at home with the tools provided in the kit (we resorted to trying a few additional zip ties from our personal toolbox) After struggling unsuccessfully, the wheelchair and the replacement tires were loaded into our vehicle and taken to the local auto and tire shop, where these very kind mechanics had the tires installed quickly and correctly. They didn't even charge us! It's not what you know, but in this case, who one knows with strength, the best tools and proper tire installation equipment! Plus, the mechanics were locals and the business veteran owned...so we're grateful for their services! We would buy said tires again and were pleased with information, details and specifications provided by the seller... but the installation of purchased tires for this particular wheelchair required a very experienced and extremely strong individual(possibly even 2 people-1 as an assistant)

What they say on the description is absolutely true seems like it won’t fit but it does, now your gonna need to put some elbow grease to install them so if your older maybe get a younger person to do it. It comes with everything you need to install them it took me around 5 mins to complete.

Do put these in a pot with hot water it was the only way we could get these to stretch onto the rim. I like that they included some zip ties and a small sturdy crow bar type tool that you can use for leverage to stretch it over the rim. I thought I would be able to b install them myself but with only one working hand I couldn't get the zip ties on fast enough and the tire would cool off. My brother helped me get them on I put the tire into the lower groove of the rim and held on until he pulled the top of the tire over into place and it just kind of snapped in. I'm very pleased with the quality. Do measure your wheels and make sure you're rims are plastic not the metal bike looking ones. Eventhough the tires looked smaller they are identical to the original ones. They have to go on tight to stay on..y old tires were pitted and falling apart in chunks but I'm rolling smoothly on these.
