Recently installed some additional outdoor cameras, battery usually lasts a good while on these units, but solar charging them will save me a ton of time every few weeks or months to take them down and recharge them. So, these panels were perfect for it. Once I received, it comes in a very unassuming box, panel is sturdy, well-constructed, the PV tiles look good. The wire is neatly bound behind the panel and can be unwound to support long distance runs from camera to a good solar coverage area. This one I didn't mount on the roof or anything i took it down my gutter pipes after connecting it magnetically (also a nice touch with these nest cams), then place the panel in the garden. It just looks like a neat little decoration in the garden and gets sun throughout the day. The camera initially said "not getting enough power" but this was because i was blocking light to it as I laid it down. It has worked flawless for three days straight, camera runs on battery through the evening and gets power during the day. Can't say anything bac about it. The only thing i could probably suggest is have an additional "extender" so the panel can be extended and pivoted out from under a soffit mount location to be exposed to the sun. The long wire though leads you to either ground installation or drip-cap install or thereabouts.

When I tried this with my Nest cameras, I was relieved that the charging plug actually fit and charged my cameras. I've bought a handful of solar chargers for my Nest cameras in the past where the charger didn't even fit into the charging port of the camera, and where the solar panel didn't even work, which was always extremely frustrating. Not only does this solar charger work, there's a cord management system on the back, where you can store the extra wire slack to make the setup look clean and tidy, and there's a charging light indicator on the wire. Install was very easy, and was done in a very short amount of time.

With output of 6w, this panel provides enough power to a Google nest cam to record video frequently (event set to more recording). For 24/7 continuously recording, you still need to plug it into a wall outlet. I've had a full week of cloudy/rainy day and it would tell me the cam was not getting enough power so I just changed the recording mode to normal and changed it back to more recording when the sun came out again.

I have another solar panel by a different brand and this one has some nice features that I wish the other one had. One, it has a bracket on the back to wind extra cord around. Two, it has an indicator light on the actual cord to tell you that it's on, and if it's actively charging. Three, it came with an installation guide hole sticker to use if you need to pre-drill holes. Not strictly necessary, but very handy and thoughtful to the consumer. The installation instructions are clear and make sense, and best of all, it charges my security camera. I don't know about you, but I am definitely not the kind of person who is going to remember to go out and get the camera to charge it. That's just not who I am as a person. Also, if you use the included security wire (I am) taking it down to charge it would be an extra hassle.

I didn't think that this solar panel would maintain much power considering its size, but it is pretty good for the price. I'm going to see how well it works charging other things too. Might have to order more just to keep in hand!

I am an Amazon reviewer, and I chose this item, which I received for free in return for an HONEST review. (I do pay taxes on all vine items). I am reviewing the 6w Solar Panel with Charging Alert Breathing Light, Compatible with Google Nest Camera Outdoor & Indoor & 2nd Generation with the 4m charging cable. This is a quality solar camera. It was easy to mount as it came with a sticker template to drill the holes. The plastic that makes up the mount seems sturdy. It works well in medium light, as well as bright direct sunlight. I can tell when the camera is charging because the blue light on the cable lights up. I like that the cable is long, it allows more freedom to place the camera. The price is very reasonable at $31 at the time of this review. I would recommend this to anyone with a Google Nest camera. Please note, it is not compatible with standard USB or USB-C devices. I hope this review helps and happy shopping.

I got this solar panel for a special project to keep my boat cool under its cover. I use a small computer fan mounted just below the cover vent, and power it by this solar panel. I have not tried to measure the total power available from this panel under brightest sunlight, but even at lower levels [ie. a spot light in my office!] the panel produces some power. So as long as any sun light is shining on the boat cover with solar panel, the fan will run to discharge some of the hottest air, and the boat will be cooler. The plastic case and the power cord appear to be high quality, along with the mounting hardware. The panel and cables certainly look waterproof.
