9000 lb no way, be warned of the risk you put yourself in with this product! Broke four times with less than 175 lb worker lowering limbs. Not an Arborist rope. Thank goodness no one used this to scramble the tree like our other ropes.

I finally had a chance to take this rope for a spin relocating some logs and vines in the backyard. Overall I'm pleased with its characteristics. The rope is a good balance of sliding and gripping, making it fairly easy to create knots that hold or loosen at will, with an extra twist, etc. The rope slides well over rough surfaces like tree bark without binding up or abrading. The rope is medium-flexible, easy to untangle, and defaults to lie flat, even fresh out of a tight coil. The yellow color, while not a performance characteristic, makes the rope easy to see and keep track of in heavy undergrowth. I just wish I had more length. ... show more

I'm not a climber, but I used this rope for moving equipment. It is a thick rope and the ends are melted not whipped. I did not cut this rope, but it would require melting if you did. It is quite thick and heavy and might work well for securing limbs or other yard work. Five stars.
