Definitely worth it! I sent for this rope just incase there's an emergency whether on the road or the trail its versatility is a plus in my book. The good: ,1.This rope is indeed 1/2 thick, 2. Its sturdy almost to stiff but it does appear to be 3. very well made. 4. The florescent yellow color is visible when the most minimal light shines upon it, this is a big plus during emergency situations 5. This is a polypropylene rope it may be used for water sports because 6. it floats and therefore 7. its water resistant albeit ,its strong but stiff so unlike most nylon ropes which are flexible this rope isn't. In my opinion, i see just 2 cons with this rope, 1. if your in the market for a good flexible rope this isn't for you. Piggy backing off its lack of flexibility, 2 there are certain types of knots that aren't going to happen with this material. Just pass! Having said that, if your in the market for a good, strong, versatile rope that's on the stiff side but it's water resistant, and it won't break the bank this one's for you. Would I consider this rope again yes, I would. My only request, which is more of a personal preference is i would like to have nicer finished ends. It's not a deal breaker because you can always address this on your own but the presentation would be made more appealing to some or perhaps to most customers. I gave this item 4 stars because i can't attest to longevity or durability just yet. At this time im very pleased and it has met my expectations. We do very large pinatas for all of our birthday parties and take it seriously. My kids have birthdays close together so usually we have two of them. I needed a serious rope that won't break on me as we go through the plethora of kids and teens all wanting to take a swing. The tree branch we use is high and I need a rope long enough for me to keep a distance from excited (and often frustrated) kids swinging wooden sticks. We've been using this for a hammock and it's worked great. The ends weren't wicked, but that's not a big problem for us. Holds up great, and easy to work with for our purposes.

Ordered this 48 Strands Braided Polyester Rope to use around the dock and yard this summer. I think for that purpose it is a suitable product. I would not use it for climbing. The product arrived very quickly and appears exactly as it does in the listing pictures. That is always nice. The ends were not very well sealed and I had to use a lighter to fix them up. That would not be acceptable in a climbing rope. The rope itself is a little bit below 1/2 inch in diameter and is stiffer than climbing rope, it would be hard to get some of the more intricate knots to hold. For the purposes of a solidly made rope for tying up a boat or rigging a pully system around the garage I think this rope is reasonably priced and up to the task. Took 1 star because I think the listing images showing it used for climbing are somewhat misleading in the ropes quality bracket....It's not a bad product don't over hype it and you get 5 stars. ... show more

Perfect, well made rope. I’ve used it for various activities, such as a temporary swing, climbing rope for trees, and a temporary pulley. The rope performed well in all activities. I haven’t noticed any fraying or damage through all uses. I also appreciate this is able to withstand the outdoor elements. I wish I had a few more of these ropes at varying lengths. ... show more

A good sturdy bundle of rope is always good to have on hand whether for yard work, travel emergencies, or just fun like making a tire swing. Which is why I got this rope it’s strong, not too thick, and very flexible. A good get overall.

This rope can serve many purposes. My purpose will be to use it to hold a tree swing for the grandkids. This rope is very well made. It feels a little stiff, but not bad for a 1/2 inch thick rope. The ends are well sealed and should not fray unless you cut a new end. Once I cut the wrapping and binder off, the rope maintained its coil, but I will need to find something to wrap a 50 ft. rope around so it does not tangle. I have no way to test the claim of this rope having a tensile strength of 8000 lbs. But looking at this rope, I have no reason to doubt it.
