I'm an amateur cook (aren't most of us;-). I had been using silicone utensils that I always found to be too stiff and somewhat bulky. Then I stumbled upon this set of utensils and I have been a happy cook ever since. I've had them for a long time now. And they hold up nicely in terms of sturdiness, yet they have a flexibility that is more pleasing to me (they bend at the work surfaces easily making the spatulas and mixing utensils easy to get under your food ingredients and the spoons and ladles are firm enough to hold true to function.) The handles are wooden and I choose to wash them by hand, but will probably hold up well in the dishwasher. I've given this set to friends and they have been happy to get them. You might be too.

I have used plastic and bamboo utensils on less expensive non-stick pans in the past but wanted silicon to better protect my investment so it will last longer. The utensils are just the right stiffness as you can use the spoons for stirring and scraping out the pot or pan and not worry about scratching them. Some people complain about the wood handles not looking good after awhile but if you just use some of the oil you use on wood cutting blocks it would bring the color back
