OUR PART #: BTA-1 MFR #: ZBTA1 Zoom's BTA-1 is an optional Bluetooth adapter that lets you wirelessly employ the AR-48c Ring Controller (sold separately) during live performances, all delivering wireless control of the MIDI instruments and devices connected to your computer—samplers, synths, drum machines, and MIDI-enabled effects processors as well. It can also be used with the LiveTrak L-20 (sold separately), offering wireless control via a free iOS mobile app which provides most onboard functions, including Fader Levels and Modes, Scenes, EQ, parameters, EFX sends, returns, and more. The unit can also help you stay out of the shot when recording 360-audio on the H3-VR Handy Recorder (sold separately). In concert with the BTA-1, the H3 Control App enables you to remotely access transport controls, level settings, and metadata notes right within your iOS device (sold separately). Plus with the BTA-1, up to 10 meters communication is possible in an unobstructed indoor space. .

Keep the BTA-1, throw away the ZOOM H4essential! The BTA-1 is an off the chart asset. However, only with an iPhone is it functional and convenient. Trust me, if all you have is android phone... It's worthless. The BTA-1, coupled with an iPhone connects you to all the assets of the ZOOM unit.

This Bluetooth adapter allows my H6 essential zoom recorder to interact with my tablet without a cable. I think this device should come with the recorder or have it built into the device. To buy a separate. Bluetooth adapter is kind of silly. However, it does what it says.

It works well and clicks into place. I just wish it didn't stick out and had some sort of rubber gasket to prevent dust and stuff from getting into my recorder since I hate the way dust looks behind a screen. I think for $50 they could have at least provided some sort of storage case too but it didn't come with one and the contacts on this thing are really exposed. Not a big deal but if a standard feature is sold separately in the form of an attachment I think it could have been improved just a little bit. This was a very strange choice from Zoom. Just make this built into the device like pretty much everything else, including the Zoom F8n Pro. This is a great device but is another thing to keep track of and increases the chances of dust and other debris getting into the recorder. Usually Zoom products make sense but this thing was definitely a strange way of doing things. It works perfectly though which is the only reason why it gets the four star rating.

Great for Zoom H5studio

Works great for Zoom H5studio. You can see the meter on your phone, set the time and start and stop the recording. At first I was confused why you can’t change the level remotely but the reason is that the H5studio has physical dials and also with 32bit float you don’t need to set the level because it cannot clip anyway.

One can argue about why Zoom sells this as a separate device instead of just building bluetooth support into the devices. I hope Zoom will at least sell newer versions to support new wireless standards so that it doesn't feel like a total money grab. But I'm still giving it 5 stars because if you are buying a Zoom F6 or similar Zoom device that supports this Bluetooth Adapter then you need it to take full advantage of the device. It's a must buy.

Works Great

This worked great and allowed us to control our Zoom LiveTrak L-20 mixer with an iPad. It works great. It is plug and play. You plug it into the mixer and then open the app on the iPad and the invitation to connect opens immediately. We have used it a few times and it has always connected easily. It allows my sound man to sit walk around and hear the sound and make adjustments as needed while still leaving the mixer board on the stage so that a "snake" is not needed. Overall, I am pleased with the Zoom mixer and this wireless dongle. I only wish that they would make the app for Android as well as iPad.

Does not work with Zoom G11 App

Connected to my Zoom G11 guitar effects via Bluetooth, but the Guitar Lab app and the G11 are not cooperating at all. Just kept saying “Processing…” When I disconnected, my G11 was stuck on a screen that said “PC MODE”. I had to shut it down. At least it appears to be ok now that I’ve restarted it, however; I feel like there are a couple of weird characters on the startup screen that weren’t there before. ; ( I tried every imaginable combination of shutting down, disconnecting, reconnecting, rebooting, etc. Absolute waste of time. Yet another trip to UPS to return something that didn’t do what it’s supposed to. Thanks Zoom.
