Very strong fan and good light. Overall good bang for your buck. This is a great vent fan but you need to know what you’re doing to install it. I don’t recommend relying on the drywall screws provided, I removed the drywall from my wall and put some nailers in between the studs for extra support. Additionally, if your outlet is right above where this vent will be, it will not work. The outlet will have to move (either far above or 2 inches off center to the right) for it to fit and hide behind the chimney. Reason being the vent tube will hit the plug in the outlet if it’s right above the stove. Over-all this product is 5 stars, great value, but it does require a lot of work and planning to install. It is not a simple installation if you plan to make it last long.

I'm a professional chef. When it came time to redo my kitchen at home I knew I needed a hood that vented to the outside of the house. I picked this one not only due to the price but also the 450 CFM motor. This hood will really pull the heat and smoke out of your kitchen. I mounted mine as low to the stove as the specs recommended as I wanted to catch as much smoke as possible from sauteing. I rarely use the high setting and mostly use the low as that is adequate for most cooking. I can see my back burners when I stand in front of the unit and I am 6 feet tall. I highly recommend mounting it lower than higher, not because of any problems with the unit, but because I've found this to be true in industrial kitchens as well. I put the vents in the dishwasher when they get greasy for no fuss cleaning. Overall I am quite happy with the hood and I have been using it for two years.

Nice vent: works well. Tough getting the filters in, but you can do it. The only issue I had was getting the blue film off. It appears that the device was put together in parts covered with the blue film, making it difficult to remove all of the blue film between the cracks. Also, it took a lot of time to remove the blue film from the vent covers (where the filters go). This was very frustrating to me. With that said, once removed, there were very little scratches on the device. The end product looks very nice. NOTE: This unit came with a power cord (3 feet short plug attached), making it easy to connect without having to wire in a separate electrical cable.

I really like this range hood. I’ve been using it nearly every day for over two years and it’s working like a champ. Would definitely recommend. However, I’ve been trying to replace the carbon filters CFZMG01 and they keep saying they’re unavailable. Any recommendations on how I can buy new filters for this range hood?

Just want I was looking for, very nice but removing the blue film took about 25 minutes. Use a razor blade to cut the inside seems of the film before you start pulling the it off, that makes it easier and cleaner look.

The entire unit is wrapped in blue plastic that can not be completely removed without major disassembly of the unit. You can see how the plastic is wedged in all the seams and bound in the screws. The chimney sections can’t be mounted flush with the ceiling without major modification. Wiring was easy… as long as you have a plug. The light is small and dim. I would have returned it had I known how big of a pain this would be… but I already modified it to look right.

After getting an indoor air quality meter and realizing how bad the air got when cooking, I decided we needed to add a kitchen vent fan to our yurt. Installation was a bit complicated by the curved and insubstantial lattice wall, but the unit itself is really easy to put up. You first mount a little bar with hooks, then the hood just hangs on those and gets screwed in place down below the hooks. I ended up putting up a piece of plywood behind it to get a flat surface to mount it to. It does a great job of venting, and the little LED light is helpful. Not terribly bright, but good enough. The pre-wired cord is nice to just be able to plug it in and not have to deal with wiring it. My only complaint is that all the metal parts come covered in blue plastic film. I know it is there to protect the finish, and it does look nice and shiny when you peel it off, but... The film wraps around into all the seams, so it gets caught and leaves little ragged bits that I couldnt seem to completely remove. Maybe there is a good way to deal with it, but I think I would have preferred a few scratches.
