  • Love it!
I love all Japanese and Korean brand rice cookers. This one is the second brand we bought and love it! My rice always comes out perfect and delicious.

  • Simply the best
Look, it's really expensive. It also makes the best rice you'll ever cook with virtually no effort, every time. I replaced a worn-out older induction-cooking model, which made excellent rice. This one makes even better rice, as hard as that may be to believe. Cleanup is slightly more complicated due to the additional pressure-valve parts; however, removal of the parts for cleaning is easier. If you frequently eat rice, this is a worthy investment. ... show more

  • It is an amazing rice cooker. Not your average cooker, but it is an investment.
If you are serious about your rice, especially sushi rice, then this is a great purchase. It is spendy but it works great, produces great rice and porridges, and is easy to clean. My last Zojirushi rice cooker lasted over 20 years and still works, just ran out of non-stick qualities. I will take better care of this one, and the non-stick surface is much better than prior materials. ... show more

  • How did I make rice w/out this?!
I can’t believe I’m actually saying a $600 rice cooker is worth the money but I swear it is! This thing is amazing! So easy to use and clean. My biggest complaint with rice cookers is that they spit water everywhere while cooking and it’s such a mess and hassle to clean afterwards. So when my husband convinced me to give this one a try I said “ok but if even ONE drop of water is on the counter it’s going back!” I mean for $600 there better not be any rice water spit to have to clean up! Well, there was NO water to clean up, not even a drop. I was so happy with the cooking process and the clean up and would highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Worth the investment.
Growing up my mother had always had a Zojirushi rice cooker, and I had coveted them for many years before deciding finally to purchase my own. Prior to this, I used a cheap Aroma model which was adequate at best and unreliable / ruined rice at worst. When travel to Japan was shut down and my cheaper rice cooker became less and less reliable, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the 10-cup model (while our family is just three people, we do tend to host large gatherings for family and guests and I wanted the ability to heat/keep rice warm for a crowd and for long periods of time). The price tag on this model is admittedly steep - it is currently the top-of-the-line Zojirushi model available in the US (the highest-end ones on the Japanese market can reach upwards of $1000). Even my husband who is something of a rice connoisseur was skeptical. We initially did two tests with rice we use regularly - Koda Farms Kohuko Rose (our 'daily' rice) and Nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido (a premium rice). Both came out absolutely perfect - and after many hours on warm were still delicious and not dried out. The difference between this cooker and my cheap one is significant - even our regular 'daily' rice tasted nearly as good as the premium stuff: sweeter, fluffier, and fragrant. It does take longer than my old rice cooker, but since the quality isn't affected by remaining on warm, I tend to prep in advance. We tried other settings - jasmine (for long grain or basmati rice), brown rice, and had the same excellent results each time. The functions and timer are all intuitive and easy to use - you can set ahead the night before and have perfect rice in the morning for tamago gohan or rice with natto. While I was hesitant to spend the money for this machine I am truly glad I did, it is absolutely worth it for our family's needs. ... show more

  • Excellent rice/hot cereal cooker
This is my second Zojirushi rice cooker. The other one still works great but I wanted to try this upscale pressurized version. If you like steel-cut oats this is the ticket to consistant results especially if you are on a tight schedule. Just set the local time and set the timer function to the time you want your oatmeal (or whatever) to be ready. Press timer then Start and your oatmeal will be perfectly cooked at the time you set. Just make sure you throughly wash (I usually rinse about three to four cycles) the rice or oats before cooking. Also remember to clean the inside of the cooker each time you use it. ... show more

  • Massive overkill
Mom needed a new rice cooker. Her previous Zojirushi rice cooker was over a decade old and it's still going strong but she figured it's time for an upgrade. She wanted the best and she insisted that it should be made in Japan. No communist rice cooker for her she insisted. So I went out and purchased the best darn rice cooker the free world has to offer. To be honest, the difference in rice quality hardly justifies the cost but what do I know. I'm just a peasant. One thing I can tell though is that this thing is an impressive showpiece in the kitchen and it impresses the guess. Everything about it just oozes quality. You know you made it to the top when you're eating rice outta a $500 rice cooker. ... show more
