  • For me...it gets no better
I've had a kreepy krawly for last three years. To be fair, it came with the pool that came with the house and it is likely older than three years. I've purchased several parts for the krawly - new foot, new rollers, pretty much the regular wearable parts. I also put new hose on the unit. Constantly sticking on drain and not moving around pool well. Spent a lot of time brushing pool towards deeper end where the Krawly would hopefully clean. Finally got tired of it and thought time for new. Researched the high end robots - all my friends have them and rave about them. Couldn't get it out of my mind that I would have to regularly remove from pool and store. That seemed like a pain to me. I read reviews and pulled the plug on this zodiac "equivalent" of the KK. Also purchased the inline zodiac filter. Needless to say, I've never seen a cleaner pool. My pool is so clean it makes me sick :). Very, very happy to have purchased a unit for $300 that is almost completely hands off (every now and then I straighten hose). The inline filter is so easy to clean compared to the Pentair filter. By the way - the pentair filter turns from clear to completely white inside of a couple weeks. I have an old pool. My only suction is through the filter basket so by plugging this in, it kind of renders your skimmer useless. That said, I also found another gadget for 10 bucks that allows you to attach a net to your ladder. I've moved my pool jets so all surface debris is aimed to the net. Very cheap, very easy, and my pool is always clean. Cleanest in the neighborhood. Just yesterday one of my robot pool cleaner owner buddies stopped by and in his exact words, "how do you keep your pool so clean?!" Anyhow - highly recommend. Hope you have same results! By the way - the pool net attachment is called a Leaf Bone. It catches everything. ... show more

  • A minor learning curve
The thing went together and is brilliantly designed with one moving silicone diaphragm. It initially went to town but soon quit. I thought it had broken. The key to operation is getting the "mouth" of this cleaner flat on the floor for the "magic" to happen. When correct, the diaphragm oscillates and moves the cleaner along at decent rate. Break that seal and it stops. Mine broke because it got to the end of the hose limit and it broke the seal. (My pool is fairly large at 25-30,000 gal.) The cool thing is, I know it is working because the oscillation of the diaphragm causes the hose to vibrate, which you can see in the pool from the house as the hose floats. I was initially bummed that the hose came in 40" pieces but they actually stay together and afford people with smaller pools the flexibility of a shorter hose. Mine has never come apart. This cleaner moves fairly rapidly. I had mine in the pool for two days (12 hour cycle each day) and it cleaned the bottom spotlessly, so I removed it. It's lightweight and easy to store and re-launching it is a 5 minute deal. Very happy so far. ... show more

  • So far, this is the best suction pool cleaner I've owned.
Right out of the box, it was easy to assemble and get working. For context, I have a 20x40ft "party" pool with pebble tech. I had issues with it getting stuck in a corner by my steps, but I adjusted where the weight on the hose was the best for my pool (right near the end of the first hose), and I took some hose lengths out (I had too many). Now it cleans like a champ. I had my doubts, after watching it shimmy it's away around my pool, but the results speak for themselves. It climbs the walls with ease. It has never gotten stuck on the center drain covers or anywhere else. I will update this as warranted. Edit: 2 July The hose that came with it broke (see picture). The fix? Replace with a section i already had. IMO this is a quality issue with the hose, not the cleaner. It's still cleaning like a champ. ... show more

  • Working very well for now.
I'm impressed how well this is working. I have used this for about two weeks and the difference before and after is impressive. I gave it five stars for the initial use, I might add a review for durability after a few months.

  • Still Great & Dependable
I owned a kreepy crawly years ago with a rectangle vynal liner. Our current home is a marcite rectangular pool. This unit does an outstanding job on the pool. Does not hang up anywhere & is a wonderful addition. That said our pool is caged and debris is at a minimum. That's why it's caged. I 110% recommend this manufacturer. The china knock offs are cheaper but these are American made. Bravo Bravo and Bravo ... show more

  • Put on the right amount of hose.
I had some minor issues hooking up to my skimmer intake and getting the pressure correct but after that was solved it is working fine. It cleans the bottom and sides very well. It doesn’t do steps or sit out, but that’s easy to do by hand. It was somewhat pricey compared to some of the other pool cleaners I saw on Amazon, but they may not work as well or they may not come with everything that is needed, don’t know. But I do know this one works well. ... show more

  • Still chugging after almost 2 years
Great unit, still working after 2 long pool seasons in central Florida. This thing is a work-horse. You will have to replace the inner Diaphragm (part W69698) about annually. The suction will start getting really weak, and the sweeper might stop moving all together, luckily the replacement is really easy. ... show more

  • Looks freaky; works great!
We are in Southern California where the pool and jacuzzi are in use year-round. This replaces a more expensive robot vac and was recommended by our pool maintenance guy. Fewer moving parts to break and this cleaned up a pervasive light yellow algae that the other vac had left (for years!). The instructions for setup were overly complicated; just plug the sucker in and it WORKS. I’m impressed and highly recommend this vac! ... show more
