Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have been using barracudas for probably 20 years and love them. This is my 3rd G3 and before that I used one of the slightly cheaper baracuda vacs. The only reason I get a new one is it just finally wears out after 4 or 5+ years. Quality is good and about the only weak part is the rubber baffle that propels the vac. If there is anything to complain about that is the weak part to the system but they are fairly inexpensive. It works great and keeps the pool clean. I was considering going to a robotic unit this time but after reading reviews and having concerns about longevity I decided I knew what I was getting with the G3 and knew I’ll have a great vac that will last at least. 4 years so I bought another one.     • Amazing product - just the best one I have ever bought
The media could not be loaded. This could be the greatest product I have ever bought on Amazon, and I have bought a LOT. If I could, I would give this 100 stars! The before: a surly guy would come once a week and do a half-a$$ed job. I paid $350 a month plus a tip. By the next day, the pool looked dirty again, and in fact, it just never looked good, you know? I also have bought several roomba-type mini vacuums over the years that worked ok, but only always lasted one season, and at $125-175 each, that was infuriating. I just hate stuff that doesn’t work well and/or falls apart quickly. The tipping point: Pool cleaning company tried to pressure me to buy some pool equipment I didn’t need. That was the last straw. I decided that I could do better as I was tired of crummy, expensive, and condescending (I’m a 63-year old widow) service. I remembered using a Kreepy Krauly product back when I lived in FL (20 years ago) and googled to see if they were still in business. They were, under this new name. I gave it a shot and ordered. I’m not the best at putting things together, but I managed this on my own, with only a couple of pieces left over, and it worked! The after: Look at the video. My pool has NEVER looked better and I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time just looking at it. The only issue is that sometimes it likes the corner of the very bottom step a bit too much, and tends to stay there unless I move it. On the plus side, it’s the cleanest step in the neighborhood! So I would caution that you can’t simply “set it and forget it”. I’m not sure if that’s the expectation anyway, but I have no problem checking it from time to time. If I were to be away for a long period of time, I simply wouldn’t use it at that time, but I don’t think that’s a big deal … do you? Apologize for this extra l-o-n-g review but I felt it was necessary to convey my total frustration, the leap of faith I took in buying this, and the pure joy I have over the results. I simply could not be happier with this purchase 🩷. By the way, I know this isn’t the “proper” way to use it if you have a basket like I have, but I do it this way (straight to the intake) when I want it to go super fast and hard (ok, that sounds obscene but it isn’t I swear).     • Good pool cleaner but had one problem
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I've bought this pool cleaner before and it is a good one! Have only had this particular one in the pool for a few weeks. This one came with a 45 degree elbow (the thing that connects it to the wall) that kept on falling out everyday when the pool pump would automatically turn off. Each morning we had to manually reattach it to the vacuum suction on the wall which was kind of a pain. Then we realized that the elbow was shorter than our old pool cleaners elbow so we decided to use that. Because the old elbow was a different brand, I bought an adapter for it. Problem solved! It now works great. Sometimes it'll get stuck in a corner, but all pool cleaners will do that from time to time. ... show more

Without hesitation, I bought a G3 to replace my old G3 that has been running great for well over a decade (see side by side photo). I decided to replace mine because 11+yrs submerged in pool water has finally caused some pitting and degradation of the plastic on the outer housing. Every so often, the inner diaphragm doodad, the round spiked blue pad on the base, and rarely the bright yellow rubber foot on the bottom need to be replaced due to wear, especially if you have pebble plaster. All those parts are cheap, easy to replace, and readily available on Amazon The G3 appears on many pool websites’ “Top 10 Cleaners” lists. That’s because it works great, uses a minimum of moving parts, and is relatively inexpensive. For reference, my parents had a similar design (but a different brand) in the early 90s which cost them $750. The G3 is refreshingly about half the cost of that. I used a pool vacuum before the G3 which had the big goofy wheels on either side and that design DID NOT work for my pool. Terrible design, the wheels are just something else to fail/break down Pros: Works great. Easily climbs the uneven sides of my deep end, which is about 7-8ft (see photo). Basically only one moving part, so no turning wheels to break or jam. Repair parts are cheap and available. Works great on pebble but amazing on standard plaster Cons: Almost none. If your pool has uneven corners or sharp curves (mine has a weird oval step in the deepest corner), it may take minor adjustment not to hang up. Also, large debris with sharp edges (like garden bark chips) can tear the diaphragm and damage the vacuum when they get pulled through In short, I’ve had a G3 or something similar for a long time. I don’t think pool cleaners need wheels and it’s just another part to break down. Love my G3 ... show more

So far the zodiac g3 works excellent! It doesn’t get stuck in the bottom corners like my last one did(Kreepy Krawly) but it does get stuck up on the ladder because it goes up on the wall and then gets hung up behind the ladder on the side of the pool so I do have to figure that out, but the vacuum works excellent ... show more
