  • Does the job!
Size: 42 in. Style: 697
We've been using our new range hood for about 3 months. It is a beautiful eye-catcher in our kitchen and is very effective at exhausting cooking fumes. The installation instructions were pretty poor. For example, it would have been nice to have instructions on where to put the electrical box containing the power receptacle. However, installation was simple, but does require a helper. This model is 27" deep. I wanted that depth to increase the surface area and airflow effectiveness. If I were to do it over, I would select the 24" deep model instead to avoid banging my head on the unit. It really sticks out from the wall. Features I like are: no brand name or logos, outstanding lighting of the cook surface beneath, dual squirrel cage motors (dual is supposed to be quieter than single) and baffle (restaurant-style) filters and timer for shut off (in addition to immediate shut off.) It is not particularly quiet or loud. We normally use it on the low setting which is pretty quiet and does not interfere with kitchen conversation, but it is very effective at exhausting fumes. We tested its effectiveness while cooking fish. While there was some fish odor in the kitchen, the odor outside where the exhaust vent was was overwhelming! It seems to push a lot of air. The construction is pretty top notch. Heavy gauge stainless steel, etc. I had a local metal shop make an exact fit chimney cover once my final installed height was known. I didn't particularly like the two piece slide up chimney which pretty much all manufacturers use to allow infinite installation height possibilities. We're very happy with this good-looking effective piece of kitchen hardware. ... show more

  • I give this hood 4 stars because it seems like a pretty good deal for the price
Size: 60 in. Style: 697
I give this hood 4 stars because it seems like a pretty good deal for the price. If you've shopped around a little you've seen other hoods at 2 or even 3 times the price of this one. The difference is probably due to this one being made of 430 stainless steel as opposed to a higher grade stainless and the thickness of the metal. The metal is a little thin on this one compared to more expensive hoods. The motors and blower squirrel cages seem to be good quality, run smoothly and quietly, metal cages. Moves a lot of air, as expected. But, even with this hood set on high, some smoke escapes, billowing out the front; especially when cooking burgers or other high-fat foods (also as expected). Happy overall, though. Like I said, good for the price. ... show more

  • Fan is good overall but with a couple of issues
Size: 48 in. Style: 667
It looks good, was tricky to install, but fortunately for me, I had a contractor do the work. There was an issue with the filter frame weld broken loose from the main body, and contractor had to use sheet metal screws to ensure it was solidly connected to prevent rattling when running. The fan is easy to use, not nearly as complex as the last fan I had in terms of options which really were unnecessary; this has the basics including a 3 minute auto shutoff, the features I use are there. The 4 lights are adjustable (gimbal), and cover my 48" cooktop much better than my last fan - see photo. I wish the fan was quieter, it is noisier than I had expected, but so far have not found a powerful fan that was quiet. Overall I like the fan. I wish the vent filter frame welds were stronger/not broken, and fan was quieter, hence 3 stars. Functionally I would give it 4-5 stars. ... show more

  • Outdoor rated hood
Size: 42 in. Style: 697
I like that the hood is deep to catch the smoke while opening the lid. The fans have been good on level 2 or 3 to exhaust out the smoke and not let it onto to my patio ceiling. Price and quality are great. My grill is the Blaze 32'' and I was a little worried that I might hove too big of a hood, this is not the case and I am glad to have it a little over sized. My only issue is there is a rattle in the hood from the grease catch pans, located in side the hood. I hope to be able to add a remedy to make them quite. ... show more

  • I would definitely buy this again!
Size: 30 in. Style: 597
Purchased this in August 2015 because I loved the simple styling and that there were no labels/insignia on the hood itself. It looks great over my Viking range. I LOVE that I can easily remove the baffles and put them in the dishwasher. I can't believe how much grease they catch! I was a little concerned that it was going to be too powerful but I find that I usually use it on the lower settings and it does an amazing job. I just called them today to see if I could replace the halogen bulbs with a brighter bulb and the wonderful customer service lady offered to send me two LED bulbs for free (which she assured me would be brighter). GREAT customer service! I would definitely buy this again! ... show more

  • False advertisement, it does not suit a 9 foot ceiling
Size: 36 in. Style: 587
False advertisement, it does not suit a 9 foot ceiling (I have 9 foot ceilings), it is 16 inches too short and the extension piece (a 3rd piece) cost approx. $240.00 from Z line. The sheet metal is thin flimsy, is riddled with dents, and the wiring inside the hood vent is loosely hung, droops and rest on the filters. This unit looks good from a far, but a closer inspection makes me wish I have purchased a better quality $700.00 hood vent. Also, you need to be really good at installations to mount this thing and plan to upgrade the installation hardware, they sent the cheapest screws etc. they could find. This unit reminds me of a porcelain doll. ... show more

  • The vent looks beautiful in the reno'd kitchen above the 48" cooktop
Size: 48 in. Style: 697
The vent looks beautiful in the reno'd kitchen above the 48" cooktop. Only one issue to downgrade to 4 instead of 5 stars. THe chimney part of the assembly was not easy to modify for the shorter expanse from the top of the hood to the ceiling (8' in that area). Not saying that the contractor is super skilled in metal fab, but, being able to cut it so it looks decent would have been a plus. Love it otherwise. ... show more

  • Not too bad but has issues.
Size: 36 in. Style: KECOM
We purchased this hood based on specs/ design/ price. The looks are good, design could be more sturdy but does the job. it sucks really well. However, the first one arrived VERY damaged, we got replacement for it and the second one arrived a little damaged. I made it work and it looks ok, but you can see some slight damage if you really pay attention. the metal could be thicker gauge and it would be better, its very flexible. So overall I don't think I would buy it again because of construction and packaging, even though the looks are great and mechanically it sucks really well. It was been in use for over 6 months now and no issues. ... show more
